It seems people are still pretty judge-mental about dreadlocks. I've read a few posts and stuff (not on here), about what people think/ feel about dreadlocks:

"OMgosh! I hate dread locks! What I hate the most is that when you have dread locks, you can't wash your hair...i think. I've never had them for that reason!"

"EWWWW, GROSS. There are NO exceptions. Dreads are DISGUSTING. :("

"they are absolutly extrememly gross. LIKE EW !"

"No I am with you on that. Imagine all the dirt and dead bugs caught in those strands of matted hair. It's enough to make you vomit."

"I think they're gross. They look dirty."

"i agree i think that they are nasty and people that have them don't wash there hair. and its GROOSSSSSSSSSSSS! and disgusting"

"u are so right they are disgusting
i don't know how people actually have that
    and they smell really bad"

    "The question I have is:

Why would you purposely want to look like a dog just crapped on your head?"

"Everyone who I have been around who has dreads..I could smell from half a room away."

"I have designer clips on Dreds from London!

all the looks and none o' the... er ... hygiene challenges."

"I have slept next to a lots of braids and dreds and mostly - even when freshly washed they smelled damp and nasty - and other wise they were all far form ... fresh"

I know not everyone is like this, but I see that most people who say things like this, if not all, have not had any education about dreads at all.

Exactly what I thought. If they have only just been washed, they are going to still be wet, therefore smell a bit damp, because the are damp.

I find dreads visually appealing and attractive.

I like the smell of hair stink too so that doesn't put me off.

It's fine for some people to find them gross, such is the case with anything (chocolate, piercings, rap) some people love it and some people hate it and some people have misconceptions, prejudices, or bad experiences that color their view.

Most people are just Ignorant, just explain to people that dreads are clean don't smell and you can wash them etc let them smell your hair to prove it :)

my friends and family hate them and used to tell me a lot of that when I was considering getting them. Now they still hate them, but at least they know all that shit people say is not true. They're still hoping I get rid of them though, not gonna happen :D

I rarley see dreads that are actually nice looking. I like them on a very sexy diva girl, thats about it, the dreads must be very well maintained. Most of the time just makes people look like a dirtbag to me..... (my opinion)

Also, i'm surprised at how many people actually get brainwashed by money-making companies like Knotty Boy. Look at all the comments. I feel very sorry for these people's "dreads". - [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Q1HPiEjrpk

Oh man. I have never seen this video. I cannot believe how much wax they put in..... And this is an instructional video!

I do have a twist up dread wax container that I would use on my pre-locked hair (to dirty it up for styling) and I would on swipe it across my fingers and use. They really glop it on! Gross.
