For those of us who don't have one, I invite you to enjoy my very own virtual advent calendar 2004. None of your swish chocolate ones, no no no no, this is a traditional open-the-door and go "ahh" at the lovely christmassy scene revealed in a magical and mystical fashion to your mind's eye. So, let's get right down to it and open door number one ... hang on it's a bit awkward, and I don't have long enough fingernails to ... there we go. Here we are! It's a rural scene, with a snow-covered thatch cottage in the background, windows glowing a welcoming orange, and in the foreground sits a lovely robin redbreast sitting on a branch. Ahh.
oooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhh can i do tomorrows?? ((although i do have my very own nice white chocolate winnie the pooh calander right here too ))
oooohhh ahhhhh cant we have a picture of a forumer, or a forum event each day untill christmas? that'd be funky!
Stop clogging up my advent calendar with non-christmassy related posts! Hmm I think any post in this thread should have some kind of explicit yuletide content. FIVE GOLD RINGS Fleassy will be tomorrow's guest presenter!
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaay its tomorrow!! *pokes the purfarated seal* .....*fumbles*..AH HA!! *gasp* ooooooooooooooooooooooh its so pretty!!!! Its a glittery snowflake with a little christmas fairy sitting upon it
*prises open day number three ... these doors are very stiff* Woo! We're now inside the thatch cottage seen in the first window, there's a brightly bedecked tree on the left of the picture, a window at the back through which we can just about make out snow-covered trees, and in the right foreground on a tabletop there's a candle glowing with the soft warm welcoming glow that only candles at Christmastime glow like. Ahhhh!
Day number four ... I came prepared this time, I have a knife! Oh. The seal's already been broken. Grr, who's been looking too early? *grumbles* Anyway ... It's the window display of a department store, there's a rotund model santa beaming from behind his beard as he stands beside the chimney atop a house with his big sack full of presents. And all around him ... are hampers of delicious comestibles and mannequins dressed in snazzy clothing, the wares of this store, all neatly price-tagged. Hmm. Sitting in front of the window in the glow of this delightful scene is a homeless man huddled under a blanket. Well, it's a bit different this time. Ahhh.
As the forumers sit in antisipation, Dandy steps up to the 5th Door. A hush falls on the watchers, bravely she peals back the door a soft carol echos over the room. Behind the door, sits a little girl holding a cutting of mistle-toe in her hands. She's looking down at it fondly, with the biggest most loving eyes. Loves so simple, so unconditional.. so beautiful.
Door number six ... now let's see if this opens ok ... yep, still sealed ... hmm, I can't find the perforations. Bloody hell, it's back to front, this one. It opens from the left side! Stranger and stranger. Ooh, it's a steaming Christmas pud dripping in custard, sitting on a plate on a table, decorations sparkling in the background. What's that on the left? Through the window in the background? It looks like a face peering through, a hooded figure ... hmm ... Ahhh!
Due to circumstances beyond our control we were not able to open the 7th door yesterday. OK, I lost the calendar. I was sure that the day before I replaced it on the shelf, all ready, but when I came to open door 7 yesterday it was gone. I couldn't find it anywhere. This morning while tidying my cheeses I found the pesky thing hiding in the cupboard. Why I would've moved it there I have no idea. Anyway, door 7. Ooh, it's a snowman! He has a carrot for a nose, buttons down his front, a cap and scarf. There's a small boy making snowballs next to him, and further away on the right there's another child hurling snowballs at the crouching boy, as grandparents look on with glowing pride. Ahhh! Door 8! It's father christmas in his sleigh, holding tightly to the reins as the reindeers charge on into the night. The perspective is odd in this one, almost like it's through a fisheye lens, and father christmas is staring straight out of the picture. Hmm, is it me or does he have a funny, maniacal look in his eye? A knowing glint, a cynical sneer... Ahhh!
Fight it out amongst yourselves ... naked mud wrestling would be good? With erm tinsel thongs perhaps... Isn't lesbianism brilliant!
Well behind door nine....is....kier! Kier is modelling for us the lastest fashions from santa's grotto including a tinsel hat and fairy wings...aww aint he a lovely little angel? Roly.xxx edit- epp! dandini...i missed your one saying you wanted to do it today sorry.....
