unless the voting booths are outdoors, i think that violates some sort of health code. prob wouldn't be allowed in with no shoes

So, are we supposed to vote for someone named barefoot? Only candidates who swear to go barefoot? Or are we to enter the polling place barefoot?

I went and voted barefoot during the summer for the primaries and had no problems at all (voting center was in a church).

    same here.

let someone try to deny me my right to vote because I'm barefoot and, as much as I hate lawyers, I would sue the shit out of them

Polling places are one of the few indoor places in the US from which I've never, in almost 15 years activity on several different barefooters' forums, have heard any problems. I guess the polling folks are better instructed about what is and isn't legal than the average store or fastfood employee :)

Referendum time for Italy... ok , so finally i managed to hit the polling station barefoot. this time i had no role whatsoever in the poll place and was just representing myself , so i washed my face , grabbed the bicycle and went to cast my vote shoeless .

btw we were called to answer 4 questions : forbidding the realization of nuclear power plants in italy, forbidding the private management and private capitalization of public water (2 separate questions), and striking out the last law that our national first Pimp coined to prevent his ass from being tossed in jail. he is also the genius who sponsored our comeback to nuclear power . yes, it's the guy in the picture, below.

No one hassled me, spite of the looks, because there was something bigger going on... there is a lot of tension going on regarding this vote because as you may know, this vote is void unless it is cast by at least half of the voters plus one, AND it is about three very sensitive points. Personally i found very appropriate going barefoot to vote YES to say NO to an italian Fuckushima and keep water public and free for all, and make sure that all citizens stay equal in front of the law.

    WISH US GOOD LUCK !!!

clear evidence, huh ? go look the outcomes and our recent history. this is Italy asking Berlusconi and his henchmen to call it quits for good. 57% asked to cancel the law he passed to cover his ass from trials. talking about the 'bad talks' issue, he did his best to shame us in front of the world , just think of his raving with obama about the conspiracy of evil commie judges or his ludicrous politics with Gadhafi's Lybia. give us a break. but today we did the right thing , we put into nothingness his hideous plots so it is totally out of place apologizing for me 'talking bad' about Italy, 'cos I'm not. I am doing just the opposite, and if you think that bashing berlusconi and his disgraceful intents equals bashing Italy, well, i fear it's strictly a problem of yours. but we've run severely OT.

today I grabbed the old bike and joined a brief street party in town as a celebration of the vote results. still barefoot, of course, not to ruin the great feeling :sunny:
