I saw this movie half a year ago, and still watch it over again, and Ive shown it to various people- I love the movie. The ideas presented in it are amazing, and I had so many bizarre thoughts running through my head when it was over. It was a life-changing movie, seriously.

It starts off with two children playing that game...I forget what its called- but its where you have a piece of paper folded crazily, and then you count numbers and theres little sayings on the inside of it. And so they play and the boy gets "Dream is destiny." as his fortune thingy. That sets the premise for the rest of the movie. He goes throughout various dreams, and wakes up only to find he is still in a dream. As he wanders, he stumbles in upon poeple who are deep in philosophical conversations, ones that are incredibly interesting to listen to, and think about. He hears one philosophy that life is a dream contained within a body, and that when you die, you pretty much dream forever, and can't "wake up" so the main character starts to think that he may be dead.

I should also mention that it was filmed by a normal camera, and then edited to look like a cartoon with swirly colorful trippy images to produce the feeling of being in a dream-world.

I highly recommend it. Have you seen it?

    cheers,
    dylan

awesome movie. they used like a hundred different animators to get those effects.

if you liked waking life, check out 'slacker' its by the same dude, has the same kind of flowing storyline, and even some of the same actors in it.

saw it for the first time about 2 years ago. Visuals were nice. it was interesting to see something with Alex Jones in it. It was a nice effort....looking forward to his adaptation of Dick's "A Scanner Darkly."
