Yesterday me and my friend went in wal- mart to get her girlfriend some roses and of course i went barefoot as always and for the first time ever i was told something for being barefoot in wal- mart. I was shocked cause i went into wal- mart a million times before and was never told anything... And when we were leaving my friend was like trying to make me put shoes on.... The lady said that they could be shut down cause of the health inspector people.
Probably 'cause you could step on something and hurt yourself and they could get sued if they didn't tell you.
Your friend is wrong about this. Health departments do not care what customers wear or don't wear on their feet. They are required to inspect for the cleanliness of retail/food and other businesses that cater to the public.
Wal Mart is the only place I get any problem from, because of the greeter at the door... so I go in thru the 'greenhouse' section (no greeters). Once I'm in I don't usually get anyone saying anything about me being barefoot.
It wasn't my friend that said that it was the greeter that said that if the health inspectors come and see me with no shoes then they could shut wal- mart down and i was like thats just a load of bull. My friend just agreed witht he greeter.
Ohh.. welll that greeter was wrong then. And they should have clean floors anyways.. Health regulations, right?
damn straight they should have clean floors, but i doubt they do....ever been in one of their bathrooms? disgusting.
you need to wear a helmet too.. in case something falls and hits your head.. and knee pads in case you trip.. so you don't hurt your knees..
Now that's an idea! Unfortunately, the Wal-Mart I usually shop at doesn't have a greenhouse / nursery section that can be entered from the outside, but another one I shop at does. Maybe I'll start doing all my Wal-Mart shopping at the other one instead!
I worked there for a little while. Lots of times things will break and chemicals will spill on the floor. If you've already got a cut on your feet, then, I don't know...you might turn into a mutant or something.
hey wea...bummer...you know i am a shoe dude but i wanted to add that walmart hires the very people that lose their real jobs to all the off shore production that they encourage in order to give low low prices on....you guessed it...SHOES...so now you have even more reason to steer clear of evil walmart
The SBL has contacted the different states and NO state Health Department has anti-barefoot laws for customers. See http://www.barefooters.org/health-dept Same with driving barefoot, btw.
A few steps in household chemicals isn't going to kill you, even if you have a cut on your foot. Really, there are small children walking around in these stores who may sit down or fall on the floor, also they touch everything and often stick their fingers in their mouth. Adults also touch anything with their hands, like doors, handle bars etc that are touched by hundreds different people on a single day... yet as soon as you put a bare *foot* on the floor, people come up with all kinds of ways something bad could happen. Now if we were talking about a chem lab, or about someone who's working with household chemicals all day every day so the cumulative effect of absorbing them would be much greater, okay, I could see how footwear (and other protective gear like gloves) could be a good thing. But to wear footwear at a Walmart for this reason is really not necessary.
I cant remember what store it was exactly, but I got kicked out for the same reason, it goes against health code. Now I only like walkin barefoot in the woods anyway, the concrete jungle doesnt feel very good
That's the "thrill of the chase" of being barefoot. You can roll along merrily at the same store for ages, then someone opens his/her/its mouth to challenge you. Just because there are no laws (and it has been shown there aren't) doesn't mean people can't be pigs (oink) about barefoot customers. I've never been challenged in my supermarket (and I really enjoy barefoot shopping), but I'm still waiting. Like Tony Soprano looking over his shoulder for the rest of his undeserved life....
It was reallly stupid. I dont see anything wrong with barefooting and how it had anything to do with health regulations.
