....and to all the people who read my posts but never post themselves.

Don't know if I'll be back.....probably not.

Another oldster bites the dust.

I thought about not posting the reason why publicly, didn't want "offend" anyone.
But I am a paying member...have been for a couple of years...and when I exercised my free speech about the dirt around here...I was called a name, and threatened with being banned....

I am not a "whiner"...have only reported 2 posts per say....but was called this name...then when I asked a question about if a moderator could delete all posts left by someone who they had banned...I was threatened with banishment.

Won't pay to be treated this way.....

So thats it...wonder if this post will disappear....

SOOOOOOO you wonderful friends..I bid you farewell...no one will ever miss this place more than I will....

I will be around for a few more days to pick up e-mail addy's in PM's...so if you would like my addy...PM me.

If I find a place to start my "living off the land" forum I will find a way to come back and let you all know.

Never talked much but I hope wherever your future takes you, things will work out well.

 

Why go? We NEED people like you PRECISELY because you raise issues. We NEED you because what raises this forum above the norm, is it's older members. There are stacks of forums out there swarming with kids that we could not stand, let alone be savvy enough to be active on, but on this one, we can, we count.


I raised a point about the commercialisation aspect - ie paying for the porn bit, which I considered a shallow puddle of an excuse for an offshoot of the website being a pay to view porn site. Porn is actually fine by me, but the commercial aspect - on a hippy site - wasn't, and I had allsorts of 'well, you, know this thing costs money we got going here, etc, etc excuses ' to deal with. SOme of the points were valid, but I left the thread after having made my point and reading other people's. Sometimes, it is too easy to take things personally....I'm as guilty of that as anyone!

Why not just be a ono paying member? But, hang around, man.

There are many who feel the way you do.. mostly us oldies who have grown out of that frame of thinking, if we were ever thinking there.. I have called the Mods on the sex pix that were being posted in the forums, and not just the porn sites either, I was negie'd to death and was called a bitch and prude and other names.
I do not pay to be here, I should be paid for all the information I have brought to the forums and not pay for the privilege to post. As many should be. What we bring here are our memories, and a contenuation of the LOVE LOVE LOVE that brought us together in the 60s. A guiding light for the youngers and a place to reconnect with our bro n sis's.
Teepi is one of the GOOD ONES here and that what Skip did/said to you was rude and unkind and not in the hippie way at all. If this Site is to turn commercial so Skip can go to India or where ever he chooses, well then he's gonna lose the ones that make this a true hippie site, with the Origanial Hippie in it.

Skip you need to apologise to Teepi and beg for her forgiveness and ask her to stay. She has done no harm here. She is a PeaceMaker!!!!! Teepi will be missed here and a lot of oldies feel the same way she does about the porn.. Will you ban us all for calling you down from your throne. Have you lost your LOVE LOVE LOVE. Can you not see where you are taking us old hippies or has the almighty dollar blinded you.
I will prolly get banned too for what I just posted. So be it. It's the truth and if that is reason for banishment then bring it on. You are losing most of us anyway.
Look at the old hippies forum.. hardly any of the origanial hippies post there anymore. What will become of the OHF when there are no longer any OH in here to post. If you want to cater to the youngers that's cool, but if you want us oldies here we expect some respect for what we did. And some concideration as to what we want to be affiliated with, and PORN is not something that resonates Hippie. Neither is commercializum(sp). It's counter hippie.
Skip don't lose touch with the ones that make the site what it is, Hippie. They don't make us original hippies anymore. If you lose us, what is left, your porn site and the kids. But it's your site and you can do what you wish with it. I hope you do the right thing and bring back Teepi. It doesnt look good to cause her to leave bc you were rude to her. She, like the rest of us oldies have feelings about what we involve ourselves with. If we can't relate these feeling to you without being cussed, then there is no place for us here. And you have no bissness calling this HIP FORUMS cuz what you did was extreamly un-hip.
This too will prolly get edited or erased. But it is how most of us feel. I know several who are concidering leaving bc of what's going on with the forums.
I can only say what is the truth, if the truth can not be tolerated then it's time to call it a day.

Teepi, you were one of the first people I added to my buddy list when I first joined this site, around christmas 2003. I always enjoyed your wisdom & reading the stories about what was going on at your place.
Well you are still on my yahoo messenger list, so I guess if I don't see ya around this site then I'll have to wait till yahoo tells me your online to say hello & see how you're doing, and I still go to ebay once in awhile to see if ya have any new paintings for sale.
Whatever ya do, wherever ya go just know we are all with you.

Teepi, we've been in touch, and you know how I feel about this whole thing...

I'm one of the "whiners" too...and not at all pleased with the response to my concerns posted in User's Support...I too am a paying member, and don't appreciate being treated badly...and, like Teepi, I don't plan on being around here too much in times to come...I won't say anymore in Teepi's post...but this all is a damned dirty shame...

Thanks for your PM Teepi... I think you should stay. Don't let one person ruin it when there are plenty more people here you DO like. Why let them win.

And let's not forget that if you tell them to shove the membership fees next time they're up for renewal and then stay on as a non-paying member, it will be the ultimate payback! A mistake they will sorely learn - you don't treat your loyal customers like that.

Also, this place can be used as a tool to try and achieve the things we all want in this world.

20,000+ members... that's a big captive audience, and a rare opportunity.

 

I haven't been around much lately, so wish I could actually join in this post with a little more knowledge. But I did read Teepi's and Shameless's post and I to, wonder what will happen when the generation that was the inspiration for this site leave. Where will
the memories and stories come from ? One of the basic parts of being a "hippie"
is to voice out and speak your mind and no matter if you agree on someone's opinion
or you disagree, they should not be belittled and mistreated just because
they think different ! Teepi, this site is loosing a gem when they loose you.
You are one of the few "real" people on here. Please post on our yahoo group
when you can so that we don't loose touch.

Bad days happen here, I know I've had way more than my share over the years and the reason that I rarely posted for the first three years or so. teepi, i havent responded to you often and i am not really part of the old hippie crowd, but i must say that i have to agree with what others have said here. however, at the same time, i have been in your spot a couple times...and thought of leaving myself...there is so much riff raff....so many people who want to bring negativity and cause harm...but beautiful sister....all the more reason to shine your love light....i have touched and been touched by many on here and have learned so very much...this is a great place for like minds to join, granted there are so many that are not...but thats life....
