On January 27 2007 Many different groups committed to peace on our beautiful planet are organizing a peace march in Washington D.C. Anyone who can make it should, and if you can't make it, get your priorities straight and get in the streets! http://www.unitedforpeace.org/ Visit this website for more details. I hope to see some hip folk there
Forget Woodstock...protest for what is important now. You will meet people you will never forget. That's really what life is all about.
I really really really wanna go but I don't think I can cuz I have to work.. I'm really sad about that. Its so poopie! I'm still gonna try though!
Sing a song of peace and remember Rabin and Arafat...they compromised for freedom. Life is all about compromise and accomodation. Peace is the most important thing. If we value security more than peace then we lose!
Umm..... call in, take a personal holiday, tell them your grandmother died, tell them that the welfare of your country is more important than an 8 hour shift. get someone to cover your shift... do what you have to do, but be there!
If more people had attended the rally before this war got started January 2002 in Washington, we wouldn't be in one right now. How many of you followed it on C-Span they broadcast it live? Did you even bother to tune in on the tube? Will you this time probably not, it's a Saturday you probably have important things to do.
Trust me if it was any other job I would.. but I work for my dad and he's in Mexico. But my brother is going to check if he's free that day to work soooo I'm hoping I can go!
I don't think so man there were alot of people that protested the war before it started I think total it was like 3 mill.
www.unitedforpeace.org The protest is on Saturday and then on Monday it will be lobbying day so if you are more local stay for Monday and haunt your members of Congress, and just for me subtly insult some of those slimy lobbyists while you're there. I am trying to pull some strings to make it out there. Its hard though cuz classes just started up again and 18 hours is a long drive and Im broke. There are local organizers in many cities trying to plan ride share carpools or bus arrangements. Get on www.unitedforpeace.org and look at the organizer list. "Blessed be the peacemakers"
If it's anything like the gathering in 2002, there will be speeches given ongoing by the movers and shakers of organizations like MoveOn, TrueMajority, Veterans for Peace, etc. . There should be a lot of music as well. It'll probably be cold so dress warm and wear comfy shoes.
There will be a counter protest for those of you that follow King George. http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1765957/posts
