Lilacs, definitely. The heirloom trees. Purple. it's weird. the Lilac trees on our farm always always bloom on my birthday. Never an exception. those and wild roses.
There's so many, all so beautiful, but Spring flowers, snowdrops, crocus, daffodils and then primroses and bluebells. Agree about the lilacs. I have a lilac tree and on warm Spring evenings the scent is glorious, just bury my face in the blossoms.
A mass of wildflowers- perhaps an old cornfield with poppies, corn marigolds, cornflowers + corncockles or a spring woodland scene with bluebells, wood anemones + lesser celandine. Though I'm from England I was amazed by the Texas wildflowers on the verges some years back with Texas bonnets, Indian blanket + paintbrush amongst others. I'm pleased that naturalistic plantings are much in vogue these days in gardening circles.
I love lillies, daffodils and most recently jasmine - it's heady scent makes me want to bury my face in them all day long!
i like Jasmine, but for some reason the smell makes me sick to my stomach. Still, a little bit once in a while is awesome
I looove forgetmenots (they're flowers, aren't they? not weeds.. even so.. i love em) also, lily of the valley, zinnias, peonies, sunflowers, coral bells, lilacs, lupins, grape hyacinth, ahhh I'll stop there..
it depends on what is blooming at the time... I love lilies, Asiatic Lilies, Tiger Lilies, Oriental Lilies, any kind of lily. Planted about 200 bulbs six years ago, probably have 2000 of them now. But my all-time absolutely favorite flower ever has to be gardenias, y'all! Too bad nobody who lives outside of this part of the world can grow them unless they have a greenhouse. You all are missing out on one of the most incredible plants ever. Pure Southern essence, that's what gardenias are!! good grief, Duncan, edit that picture, why doncha?
