i had heard somewhere that some places you only have to wax once. does anyone know for sure what these places are? bc if all it takes is once, then i could endure one painful waxing session. and does anyone know an easier way to remove pubic hair? i've tried shaving, but it doesn't work right. it gets itchy and irritating (also when not shaved bc of the hair) and prickly. also, i get razor burn. i've tried different shaving creams and razors, but its just not right.
Ive never heard of a place or a wax that can do that but then again im from new zealand and we never hear of anything like this until its been out for at least 5 years. If ya wax regulerally it doesnt hurt as much as the first time, I do it and ya get used to it.
Do you mean you wax once, and then the hair never grows back?? Sorry, but that's impossible. The only way to permanently get rid of hair is to have a procedure called electrolysis done. And believe me, that costs a LOT of money. Shaving your pubic hair really is the best method..it's quick, painless, and you don't have to wait for the hair to grow back, like you do for waxing. Take a bath, and make sure the skin to be shaved has been sitting in the water for a while..the heat will soften the skin and open up the pores. You may also want to apply conditioner to your pubic area for a minutes to further soften the skin. Use women's shaving cream (it's made for easily-irritated areas) and a fresh 3-bladed razor. Shave once going downwards, then once sideways. Going against the grain (shaving upwards) will give you the closest shave, but may be too much for your skin to handle. After you're done, dry off the skin with a towel, and apply a light coat of baby powder or powder deoderant.
ooooh those tips sound good! Im a shaver and will do ANYTHING to avoid that awfull shaving irritation! Thanks!
Also, someone on another thread mentioned to apply neosporin or similar triple-antibiotic ointment immediately after showering, before drying. It really does help.
After waxing for a long while the hair folicals can become damaged and hair will stop growing. Its not worth trying though. I've shaved my pubes. Hate it, my skin is too sensative for a razor, plus it grows back itchy and too quickly. Depilatory creams are not too bad. They only take about 3 minutes for me and the hair stays gone longer than with shaving, the only problem is that sometimes it will leave a few stray hairs, but I can pluck them right out. Also I have to wait atleast two weeks inbetween using the cream or I get a rash. I have tried Nads wax, messy and didn't work. Then i had this other roll on hot wax stuff, messy and painful but worked. I like these strips that come with wax goo already on them. It gets rid of the mess of applying the wax. I like waxing because it is quick and easy and I don't think it hurts that much. -CB
Yeah, theres no way to get hair to stop growing simply by waxing. I get waxed at a local salon and after waxing they apply this lotion stuff and it helps slow hair growth and makes the hair grow back softer. I'd recommend trying this, it's not that painful if you get the right person to do it. Some salons even have numbing cream.
