We have been in open poly marriage for 15 years

I would not like to make focus the discussion about just sexe. But my husband and me have seen each other make love to different people... when you have no jelous natures, it is wonderfu sharing experience.

But we do not classify ourselfs as the swingers. (nous ne somms pas libertins)

There is a very strong spiritual element in relationships that are not confined to 1 partner only. It is also most naturel. It is tribal.

 

Congratulations on 15 years of successful poly! I find poly very rewarding, but it is more work than just one partner, and that's a lot of work in itself!

 

technically this isn't polygamy unless you are actually "marrying" your other partners...so you are swingers.

 

"Poly" is short for "polyamory" not polygamy usually.

Vigilanteherbalist, I think you are being unkind in telling people in a poly marriage that they are not in a poly marriage. You are obviously not in the polyamory community and have no idea how those terms are used by people who live a polyamorous lifestyle.

Fact is, there are many kinds of poly configurations and relationships, some involve multiple marriage, some involve one primary relationship and one or more secondary relationships, and some involve other combinations. If there's a marriage in there somewhere, it's a poly marriage. (Open marriage and poly marriage are often the same thing.) Some are swingers (or libertines, as the French say), and some, like Amoreaux, are in committed, exclusive relationships. Look up "polyfidelity" sometime.

Sounds like you are uncomfortable with the whole idea of "free love."

Poly is not short for polyamory or polygamy...

Poly is a prefix meaning many... when combined with the word marriage... it means multiple marriages... something the OP only had AFTER being called on it... When this thread started, there was just her and her husband that made love to other people... That is NOT a poly marriage...

Just because there may be a marriage involved when there is a group involved does NOT make it a poly marriage... for there to be a poly marriage, there must be multiple marriages...

Polyamory is about multiple loves
Polymarriage is about multiple marriages
Polyfidelity is about being true to multiple partners.

There are many other uses of the PREFIX poly in relationships... and in every one of them.. Poly still just means 'many' or multiples...

Now come on... I would like to see one of you silly fuckers challenge my right to speak about or my knowledge concerning multiple partner relationships...

Anyway... I don't care what other people do sexually if no one is having sex they haven't consented to. Doesn't mean I want to do it. Not to sound like a stick in the mud, but I really don't want to hear what sounds like a big ass lie. It's exhausting, and I am tired enough already, OP.
