Why do nations continue to build more, advanced weapons systems? The US and other nations actually build defense systems. Well, if nobody made mass killing weapons, we wouldn't need defense systems, would we? For example, the US is trying to put a missile defense shield in Europe right now to protect Europe from "rogue" nations and missiles, such as Iran.. they claim. Well, why would Iran have any reason to launch these missiles?.. they would have to be provoked first. And Russia is complaining about this because it is right in their backyard. WWIII anyone? It's ridiculous. They claim they want peace but continue to make more and more weapons that kill. And then they complain that the "terrorists" might get their hands on a nuclear weapon. Well, who's to blame for that? Anyway, my thought is.. wouldn't we be better off if every nation denuclearized, including US and Israel? What's so hard about that?
No one wants to be the first nation to denuclearize... Hell... imagine what would happen if Israel denuclearizes... it will be attacked within seconds following the announcement. Before it was just a penis size game (I blame the US for starting it and Russia for taking the bait)... Now it's just too late to stop this stupid game.
"The Unforgiven II" and "The Memory Remains" are half decent. The rest of those tracks suck. I'm gonna stop getting off topic now
Did the American people ever approve the funds spent on these weapons of war. I know I didn't. I don't even buy the grandkids toy guns.
Depends, do you consider members of the House of Representatives and the Senate, American people ? http://www.cdi.org/program/issue/document.cfm?DocumentID=4130&IssueID=77&StartRow=1&ListRows=10&appendURL=&Orderby=DateLastUpdated&ProgramID=6&issueID=77 Sure you did, in one way or another.
Do you EVER respond to any of your threads? Seems you start alot of threads, but you dont participate in any of them .
Defense systems have been around for thousands of years, Have you ever seen a castle or a wall? Wiping Israel off the map comes to mind. Who would you blame? It would just start over again, this time more covert than the last. More like "whats so easy about that"
The lesson learnt in the 30s, that was the last time anyone was going to ignore the doctrine of "peace through strength". No one wants an arms race, but no one wants to be suprised by a rapidly arming dictator either so nations tend to balance the 2 by generating the infrastructure for the latest military advances but not splashing out on them. That's the general idea I guess.
So how can we go about the world saying other countries shouldn't have the bomb, but we are pouring billions into developing an even more destructive one?
