Me and my friends wanted to go outside somewhere nice today and take some acid, though it turns out the weather's pretty dull (wet and drizzly, grey clouds, dull white sky etc). We don't necessarily wanna stay inside our small flat, and as you know it's good to trip outside in naturous places, and esspecially in the sun cos it's more beautiful, warm and positive feeling if you know what I mean). I've personally only had trips in lovely weather when outside so I'm not sure how it would turn out, will it seem really negative, antagonising, cold and dull or would you embrace the rain and the feeling? If you know more about this then give me some advice, should we just save it for another day?
I think it would be kinda cool, actually. I think the gloomy atmosphere will provide a nice tripping environment. Also, that probably means it won't be very hot...which is always kind of something to keep in mind for tripping since your body heat sometimes goes up anyways.
its all about you. personally, weather rarely gets me down unless its really cold and nasty outside. if you think in terms of gray skies and a little dampness being gloomy, dreary or depressing, then it will likely make your experience a bit less ecstatic and more dreary and listless, a bit emotionless....just getting "fucked up" more than anything. just a different kind of high. if, on the other hand, you go into it with the heartfelt{!!} belief that rain is a wonderful gift from nature upon which we all depend, that without it there would be no plants, no animals, nothing, that different lighting conditions make for an interesting change in scenery, that the cool, damp humidity is refreshing as opposed to extreme heat of summer or the bitter cold of winter, that clouds are beautiful and worth gazing up at, watching them change shape....why, then you're far more likely to have a GREAT time! the weather is not some entity in charge of how your trips go. "psychedelic" essentially means "mind-manifesting," that is, it brings out whats already in your psyche. the outside world does not directly influence your trip at all. rather, your perception of the outside world effects the trip to an enormous degree! regardless of your opinion of the weather, if you keep this in mind it could be an opportunity for reflection and development on your part. hope this is of some help. if nothing else you can stay at the crib and watch some cartoons and have discussions and just have a general good time, instead
IDK about dreary, it could go either way. I feel like it would be alright though, last night I was tripping at Jam on the river and then this ridiculous thunderstorm came but it was really really cool. So Id say go for it, but I would stay in a group of 3 people or so your close friends with. Alone or too many people could turn out poorly
the deciding factor for me would be the temperature. one of the worst feelings in life is when you're full of acid and shivering and have no escape.
There is nothing more naturally Beautiful then rain pouring from the heavens. I have tripped in the rain, and my experience with it was so insightful. I started to think about the key for life and growth among nature and how important rain is for everlasting beauty with nature. The thought of rain to me is the ability it has to cleanse and provide the building blocks for growth. Lol, but i stayed inside when it would be a thunder and lightning storm. Just the thought of me having so much energy contained in myself, I would attract one and get zapped . But yeah the rain is awsome.
I usually pray for a beautiful day....but even if the sky is spewing buckets its never enough to kill my mood when im tripping. I dont mind spending a trip inside, and if i get clostriphobic, ill go outside and frolic in the rain. Dont get me wrong I love the sunshine, but even if its a shitty day my mindset is usually "well...i wish it was nicer outside, but at least I'm tripping". I can spend a whole trip lying in the same position on the couch, with my eyes closed for most of the time, as long as i have the 5 disc changer loaded up with my fav. artists.
all aspects of nature are wonderful on acid - including the rain. ...and the indoors are not so bad as long as the atmosphere is good.
i agree that rain is spectacular when you're tripping acid; i've been in SEVERAL thunderstorms while peaking on LSD. the thunder courses through your body, heart, and soul with tremendous power and authority--it's VERY humbling.... and the rain drops from heaven go "plip-plop" in a 360 degree panorama of aural stimulation. close your eyes and listen--it will take you away. BUT, this was in sub-tropical florida on the beach--not England! you'd be wise to check the temperature before you get stuck in the rain shivering!
cool, thanks for everyone's ideas on this! we decided to leave it for that day, itd be good to do it in someone's house who has a big garden or something, then you have the option of going inside or outside if you wanna be there. thunderstorms sound pretty enlightening, i've heard being in the snow on lsd is something else!
one of my best tripping memories was after being worn out in the hot sun all day it started to rain. those first few raindrops hitting my skin were awesome! sunshine is probably ideal but any weather is more intense. rain is risky because there's more that can go wrong (shivering, getting stranded, walking around soaked, etc.) but if you avoid those problems you can have fun. a friend of mine tripped during a hurricane and said it was amazing, that may be reckless but it's a chance to see the awesome power of nature.
Tripping in thunderstorms is the best as long as you have the option of going inside if you need to. IF you don't have that option you might get worried that you may eventually have to and start freaking out. In general though, thunderstorms where the sun is really shining bright are my favorite I also imagine it would be cool to witness an eclipse while tripping or go up north to view the northern lights.
^ you don't want to end up staring at the eclipse, though, and damaging your retinas. i'm so pissed that there are no pain receptors in the eye and/or optic nerve: you can literally fry your eyes without knowing or feeling anything. when i'm tripping in the sun, i'm always weary of accidentally looking too close. this advice is just as much for me as anyone else--be careful, that's all! peace.
If it a total solar eclipse or total lunar eclipse its safe to look at. But yea, its funny you mention that, I made a thread in a different section a little awhile ago about how i find myself staring at the sun
you can look at a lunar eclipse regardless if its a full eclipse or not. i love it when you look at the sun and its dull enough that you can actually see its shape. lol i'm prolly gonna go blind some day
