I don't know why but at times it seems near impossible for me to lose weight. I work out three times a week, and despite eating junk food, I try to do small exercises like jumping jacks, push-ups, and sit-ups on my rest days. Why aren't I losing weight? Do I need to implement some kind of cardio like jump roping too?
At the risk of having the information misinterpreted I'll point out that in order to lose weight you must burn more calories than you take in. Be careful about strict dieting because if you restrict your intake too much you can slow your metabolism compounding your problem. I suggest a light weight lifting routine to increase your muscle mass which will also increase your resting metabolism. Good cardio should be sustainable for an hour... a brisk walk or biking are good ideas. The scale is your enemy... stay away from it. My suggestions are not set in stone; take up activities that you enjoy doing and wouldn't mind participating in if you weren't trying to reduce. The key to any fitness regimen is that it has to be sustainable. Don't take on something that you're going to be bored with down the road. Junk food is your enemy here as well. Make better choices about what you put in your body.
Cool, next week I'll get on the cardio by doing at least 15 minutes of jump rope after my weight lifting. Thanks a lot.
