Welsh Man Sentenced For Racial Slur

A man in Wales has been sentenced for calling a woman an 'English bitch'. He protests he's travelled all round Europe and is not a racist.

Then he says "It's political correctness gone mad!" Well, I believed he wasn't a racist until he said that....

 

That's insane.

 

What does traveling have to do with being racist?

 

hmmmm sounds a bit OTT to me... Especially since ive had this friggin twat say really racist things to me, my brother and my friend (to my friend mainly) which was much worse than saying "english" not to mention the stuff i heard over msn. *sigh* this bites.

 

Do people seriously still say that!? Dont they realise what twats they sound? I cant stand little idiots repeating this stuff, thinking its clever when really theyve been sucked in by racist thinking

It IS another example of the police busying themselves with minor cases because its easy, while the extremely dangerous man i reported years back is still free and harming children, and so in turn is stopping me sleeping at night. And even ive had worse things said to me. But the guys also an idiot for saying it. I think its pretty pathetic

The more i see of all this the more my idea of world hermitism makes more sense , if people avoid contact with each other you wouldnt have any racism or war .

I can just see this day and age. I bet all our nurseries have mitten covered scissors and cotton stuffed jackets stuck on their infant bodies all year round. But once kids become teenagers, the protection goes out the window and along comes neglect. No surprises then that this year alone, 22 young people have been stabbed, shot or beaten to death. Sad, tragic, but the ever growing reality of Britain today.

 

To me it sounds like a verbal assault with racial overtones. Should a woman have the right not to be verbally assaulted by a big hairy truckers calling her an "English Bitch" ?

 

Yeah exactly talking to anyone like thats just awful, and bringing someones "nationality" into it is racism. But still, the police have so many bigger deals to be dealing with, but they just dont want to

I dont go in much for "races". I think the whole concepts a bit odd. Arent we all just the same animals anyway? Dont we all share blood? Where are the lines drawn, and why should we have to draw any lines?
Culture i can of course respect, but catagorising according to skin tone or slight anatomy differences? Unnecessarily picky and makes a big tangle out of everyting if you ask me

Im just unsure of the word to use when talking about someone using a "nationality" in a hateful way. Oh i duno, the whole things ridiculous

It probably is racist, but being convicted over something that trivial is stupid. I didn't see Ann Robinson get arrested for wanting to put the Welsh into Room 101. She was basically calling the Welsh all immigrants to Liverpool and she hated the fact.

Everythings racist these days, the other day I got corrected in class for using the term 'black board' apparently it's racist and should be called a 'chalk board'. A 'white board' is actually a 'wipe board' now too, although, I can't see how it's racist if it's not meant maliciously.
