Yeah. I'm just wondering cause I wanna get an idea on the areas of study that are out there. Tell me what you're studying and if you enjoy it. Peace eace:
I go to school for Fashion Business ( Marketing and Merchandising ) it is a very versatile major and I will receive a Bachelors in Fine Arts. I attend a liberal arts school in Chicago. Its awesome, I would def. recommend going to an art school. Open minded teachers, the biggest plus!
Haha. For sure! I'm kinda lookin' at Interior Design right now actually, so that is definitely an option!
Well I'm still in high school but I already know when I head off to college I'm going to an art school and majoring in creative writing. It's not a very practical degree but it's my passion.
I'm working on two degrees: Environmental Science (not that good... there is actually not very much science) and Ecology (I like this major very much)
I'm in high school today and more hippy i become less school i want ot attend ! The point is, I'm an A student but past few years i wish i had never done great at school from the start... Being an A student doesn't require much effort from me but it's just not who i really am. I just don't get it, why school is neccesary and so important... It educates nothing you need for real life, nothing you can give to your growing children and nothing what you need while solving problems ot trying to live, not to exist. If i could spent all my time at school for travelling all over the world and living among all the nations there are, i would know so much more, i would be so much smarter and a better person ! That's for sure. Well, today i can't change it and giving up school wouldn't be good for me, but i don't know what i want to study... I want to sing jazz music all my life, dance lindy hop and improvize on the stage with mic... I was meant for that ! And I have jazz vocals, people tell me I can do this !
Sorry, probably it's not interesting for anybody and it doesn't really fit this theme but i wanted to cry my heart out
I looked at a few schools for interior design, which led me into fashion business. You should look into Interior Architecture, different name for the same thing basically just more drafting and drawing.
I totally know what you mean man! I hate the idea of school, and wasn't planning on attending college, but I'm kind of being backed into that corner right now. LAME Pursue your dreams man, that's awesome.
I adore school and I always have. People seem to think that makes me a tool, but I am grateful for everything I've learned and experience getting my education. That sucks if you're being forced to go to college though...
Majoring in Psychology and minoring in Philosophy and Love it. To the people venting about school I just want to say that Academia is literally a COMPLETELY different world than high school! I was a stoner "fuck-up" in high school who thought school was a complete joke and now I'm doing really great in college. This sounds lame but it's actually exiting because in high school you are forced to take all these classes with no real practical application that may never go in depth into anything that interests YOU! In higher education you get to completely FOCUS on what your passions are for the most part! Jazzy, I completely agree, follow your dreams. Although you feel backed into college right now I truly believe that you will end up loving every second of it. And Jean, almost every university offers classical and jazz programs. I have a LOT of friends in the music department in the Jazz program... There's also music therapy which is a growing and GREAT looking field. Please don't be discouraged, high school does suck, even the social atmosphere is completely silly...But the Academy is a wonderful place where everyone is an individual...Plus the "real" world is a bit over-rated.
I agree, antithesis (I always feel weird calling people by their usernames). Anyway, I love to learn and always have. School, to me, is almost...fun. If I was able, I would spend my life formally learning, discovering anything I could. Science of all sorts, social sciences, creative writing, literature...anything and everything. While doing this I would travel extensively with someone I loved very much. Ideal life.
Nah. I think it'll turn out to be something that I really enjoy. I just gotta make sure I do it right and do the things that I wanna do, not what others want me to do. I complain now, but I know it's for the better. haha Just wish I could be like you and straight up say that I love it!
One of my teachers told me I should be a professional student and I've always wanted to be That does sound like the ideal life! (By the way, my name is Christine if that makes you more comfortable )
That's definitely a good plan. I didn't plan out what I wanted to do at first and so I spent quite a while working towards a degree that I didn't even like. I really should have planned better... so good for you for thinking things through
Christine, Chris, Chrissy? Nice name either way. I'm Alex. I know...I can't wait to travel more. My family isn't a big fan, so I didn't really grow up with travel. However, I hope to study abroad in Israel or Rome.
