So you'll live off your grandparents hard work? Money is not evil, it's what your energy turns into while its waiting for you to send it on.

Live off of my grandparents hard work? I fail to understand what you mean by that. I stated that I would learn how to farm on the land given to me, Land passed down from generation to generation...and I just so happen to BE one of those generations. My brothers and I have fought to keep them from selling all their land, so some business could be put or or a new housing development...

Anyway, I never said money was evil, It is a very very valuable aspect of society, as well it should be. But in my experience, my dad for instance, only keeps a job he is miserable at to make money to keep things we don't need. I want to be different. I want to do something I love for a career, no matter the income. It isn't about not having money to me, it is about not NEEDING it.

That's commendable. It just seemed like you were saying that you don't want to work. The trick for you will be to find something you love to do, and then find a way to get paid for doing it. You're at the perfect age to start looking for that thing. If you get a job doing what you love, then you never work a day in your life.

I love that, and it is VERY true.
I realize you are an art teacher, correct?

I think teaching seems....fitting for me. Do you enjoy it?
I could never teach art, although I would love to,
I would think something more like English for me... I had a great relationship with my English teacher at my old school (in a fitting student-teacher way =D)
She was also the speech and debate teacher, a favorite of mine!

I am sooo looking forward to school next year. Yes, hip forums viewers, let it be known I love school. I signed up for a psychology class...I'm excited. My brother took it a few years ago, and said it was his favorite class ever.

    AGHHHH!!!!! I LOVE learning!
thank you for letting me realize this, jimmay boy!

    its LOVVVEEEEEE!!!!

    (and yes, I realize I'm rambling =P)

I got my final schedule at work today, I will be working from 5pm to 12pm tuesday to sunday, also all this work talk made me remember a phrase

they always say that work is so bad/boring/horrible that they pay you to do it

I think this applies a lot to me

Sarah , Those houses and that website was really neat. Thansk for linking it. I think that what you are planning to do would lead to a very fulfilling life. I think most people spend their lives saving to be happy at a later date (ie retirement).

jim, I agree with most things you say. :)

You do have a way with words:) I couldn't think of a better thing to do with my life. You get to affect the future in a real, tangible way. Some of my students stay in touch to this very day. It's a wonderful feeling to know that you get to help people on their way in life. Good luck with it!

Yes, I think it would be a VERY satisfying career..I know that I have always loved the teachers that make an effort, that actually enjoy what they do, instead of just doing it. I'm sure you know what I mean =]

And I had an English class two years ago, worst class of my life. The teacher didn't make kids think, we were forced write bullshitted analysises of 'To kill a mockingbird', only writing down that the teacher WANTED us to write down, instead of what we really feel...you know? it was like if we didn't think by the book, we were wrong, and there were a lot of great minds in that class that wasted away...you HAD to say 'women and men are equal in every way' instead of saying what you really wanted to on it, no matter what you felt. you know?

Ever since that class, I have just felted that I needed to change the way the educational system works...to inspire students to think freely instead of punishing them for it, and being a teacher is an active way to do that. :D

It's an incredible responsibility, but also an incredible privledge. And it keeps you young. It's alot of hard work, but you could do it. Channel some of that nervous energy into learning your craft (english, history, whatever) and save the teaching stuff for college. Good luck and Godspeed.

I second that. I have one down the road, and it is about six bucks for an all you can eat deal. My family and I used to go and clear the place out.

Now if only it were good for you...

The blunted fingers and yellow skin didn't give it away at all!

You know, that show is the ONLY thing my step mum has deemed inappropriate for her 4 year old to watch? he watched murder shows, and violent movies, and family guy for crying out loud!
    but the simpsons?

    No!

    Dont understand.

Sometimes when I think about how education should be, or at least how I would've quite liked mine to be, I think you should just go to school until about 15, with the main focus being on learning good language skills; proper comprehension of language and ability to communicate and express yourself properly (I'm sure this would reduce many of life's difficulties at that age), plus a little basic maths, and then just an interesting overview of all the other subjects...almost more in the form of films rather than that soul-sapping way that most subjects are delivered to you in school. Then off into the world for a few years, get the rest of your teens out of the way, get to know yourself and who you are likely to become, discover the things you love and hate, find out what the questions which most drive you are, then go back into education to seek the specific answers you want.

Or, like, ya know, whatever *shrug*

Anywaaaaaaaaay, today I will hopefully draw some more :)
