This question is pointless... You never know what consequences you can provoke with changing history.

I'm in love with pre-modern Japan culture... I am always saddened by the fact that it modernized.

If I could change one thing about history...I'd change New Year's eve...
    I should have done it.

It tried not to modernize for some 200 years, before Perry convinced them rather forcefully that Japanese culture could either modernize or die.

the rules of Bushido still live on in Japanese buisiness and politics.

Harold in '66. :H I think it would be interesting to see what changes that would make. :D

  12. bushido is fun as an idea, but the idea of eating only rice from 5 to 12 with only what you find yourself to supplement it doesn't really appeal to me......... I could go with the whole imagining a new way to die every morning thing.....

Yes, Japan was forced to open its ports to gai-jin buisness.

Bushido cannot work in modern buisness. Even if the Japanese dealing are some great Yoshimoto or Toronaga samurai descendents; the people they are dealing with are still not.

Well, but it works well in domestic buisiness: Employess are as loyal to their Corporations as Samurais were to their lords.

Possibly, but domestic buisness is still too internationaly connected to be run by the principles of Bushido. Especially since most workers aren't of Samurai rank.
