I have an unpure DMT extract that I have been using. It is rather frustrating. After smoking a lot in the pipe, there is now a very thick (almost solid.. but not)brown stuff coating my pipe. In the neck of the pipe (a meth pipe), crystals have sprout forth from the goop. I find it amazing how dmt crystals can actually grow out of this impurity. Anyway the brown stuff is not crystalising, instead it is like a resin. What is it most likely to be? Just plant extract? Or would it also have other impurities from the extraction process?

but DMT becomes a crystal, no? Ive seen a pipe thats been used heaps with pure dmt crystal and it had none of this funk just crystal dmt
bill- it's probably DMT goop. if the extraction picks up a yellowish color from the oils and fats of the mimosa the crystals will not want to form correctly and be all "gooey" but it is DMT, and smokes ok. when you put it in your glass pipe, the DMT vaporizes, and can recrystalize on the glass elsewhere... the "impurities" will bubble and burn and get even stickier and turn brown and stink and taste like ass. how to avoid the "goop"... it's pretty easy. take you nasty yellow crystals and put them in a evaporation dish, pour some naptha on them, and add heat. (a coffee maker burner is perfect) the "GOOP" will get all sticky and clot together and you can sort of use a razor blade and get it all shoved to one side of the dish. the naptha will have turned yellow probably, but let it evaporate slowly... this should allow some pretty nice crystals to form up in a few days. if they still look yellow you can do it again, but keep in mind that your yield will decrease as the purity increases... so might want to geep the "goo" and do a few more naptha washes on it. the yellowness comes from letting the naptha sit in the basified mimosa for too long before decanting. it is a good idea to pull off the naptha pretty quick, and do many small pulls rather than letting a lot of naptha sit in your sludge overnight. the more pulls you do the more yellow it will get. when youve done maybe a half dozen you can leave that naptha in overnight and just try to clean up the finished product. store/evap each pull seperately so you can see the progression better in the final product... keep the dank white shards as your headstash and give away the kinda yellowish crystals... they're still going to be kickass
If naptha will dissolve the DMT and not the impurities, does that mean that this DMT was extracted with a method that didnt involve naptha?
