i went to catholic school untill i was almost 16, , i now i'll do ANYTHING to rebell against it... People who say they beleive in GOD!? in this forum? what r they doing here? yeah sure jesus was a hippy they say.... maybe he was, i dunno, but the reality today with the pope (which i wish would hang in the end of a rope) is a dirty story. In my school there were priests doing kinky stuff w small boys, & somebody told me they wont allow female animals at monsteries, so the monks and priest wont get tempted.... Christinity is evil, they have fooled us all of to think that reality/sex/freedom is bad, when it is what makes us alive....
Any institution which uses the pleasure/pain principle to coerce you in, is a threat to you--to your freedom, to your perception and, ultimately, to your life.
That's more the Catholic Church than Christianity as a whole. The teachings of the Catholic chruch, for good or bad, are based largely in late Roman and early midieval theology. Jesus remains as little more than a figure head. Catholic techings are almost entirely non-scriptural. If the words "Jesus" and "Christ" were removed from all things Catholic then Catholisicm would be 100% unrecognizable as a branch of Christianity. It's teachings bare no resemblence to the teachings of Christ.
correction, what makes us alive is a beating heart, as well as a brain and some lungs...oh yes, and a system to get nutrients into our body, that too
Then those priests weren't Christian, but hypocrits! God strictly forbids sexual sin, including that what your 'priests' did. And catholicism, isn't pure Christianity, it's got some extra stuff in it that isn't in the Bible. In Christ we are free, free from the bondage of sin, we're truely alive. Those teachers of yours must have not checked it. And yes, the Pope's got issues, in fact, the last time I saw a picture of him I jumped because he looked possessed , badly . I'm sure that this guy's the Whore of Babylon, many Christians here agree!
I don't call myself Christian. I am not an atheist, and believe in spiritual reality. Some of the comments that I read slamming Catholics and the Pope really sounded horrible to me, and I totally disagree. My heritage is originally very anti-Catholic Irish Protestants, and my parents are atheists, but I think Mother Teresa is the most beautiful spirit I have ever heard of, and have good friends who are devout Catholics. I think Christianity is too divided, and that it, Islam and Judaism should not bicker so much. Abraham is a patriarch to all three, a common origin. How sad that such closely connected faiths are so viciously fighting each other. If they can't respect and accept each other, there is no chance that they will ever find common ground with all the worlds other great, beautiful faiths. The saddest irony of our modern world is that supposedly spiritual groups can be so stubbornly critical and judgemental towards each other. And that includes atheists, imho. My God doesn't have a pet church, does not play favorites, and loves all of us, irrelevent of our belief in God, our church, or our ethnicity. We are all equals to God, imho.
The religions of today are the same religions that God himself spoke out against while walking the earth.
That is great to hear. Thank you, I think you are right. But, of course, I disagree. From my position, I am not generalizing at all, but being as specific and clear as I possibly can. My views are exactly what I wrote, to the last detail, and anything that is unclear, then I think I said so. I don't totally understand what your reason for telling me what you are not, rather than what you are is, but its all good. Whatever you are is your business, and if you want to keep your beliefs private, I respect that. But I wanted to reply cuz my belief is that you don't know what is right for me, so if I am generalizing too much, the only person who can decide that is me. You can share what you think about my beliefs with me any time, but I hope you don't mind if I disagree if you tell me I am wrong, cuz I want to share my views openly, whether we differ or not.
"My god is bigger than your god, my god's bigger than yours I can invent more bullshit to save his name, my god's bigger than yours." It's funny how religions evolve after science takes one of their myths and burns it with fact-- *flat earth*, *volcano gods*, *thunder as god's voice*, etc. How's this for a generalization: Although they may be sprinkled with a little truth here and there, all religions have one thing in common--one common thread: Pure Grade A 100% BULLSHIT as the main ingredient.
I don't think reality is...not real...or the sex and freedom are bad. I think that child molestation is atrocious..within or without the Church. I also think that Catholicism does not define the entire Christian church.
yea...what she said....again. Epiphany, could you just please sign your posts with my name as an addition? You always voice what I want to say but can't seem to write in a cohesive manner.
a bit of clarification: christians don't say "my god is bigger than your's" simply because "your god does not exist."
um perhaps you have been fooled and not the believers on jashua?? Knowledge of the greater truth tends to make people more centered and calmed. Aint no peace in your posting. My same old question how can some one get so pissed off about something that they don't believe in?
i'm still getting confused about how members of a hippie board are continuously incapable of identifying that people are freaks, and there's freaks under every flag: hippie, liberal, republican, christian, hindu, pagan. can anyone here really say that the group of people they most identify with is completely lacking in evil fuckers just hiding out? that nowhere in the hallowed halls of their philosophy there wasn't some mentally ill son of a bitch harming people and molesting children?
