And I bet you love to imagine a world without them in it, but since you are still posting it would appear that people can disagree with one another yet still work together without need to kill each other.

They would like to repeal that one too in some places.

I heard an interview on NPR with a pastor supporting the Indiana bill. When asked why, he replied with a lot of vague double speak - like, its ok to refuse service in some areas but not others and its up to the court, not the legislation to set the boundaries.

which I basically took to mean he expects gay people to spend their hard earned money on lawyers and court fees fighting discrimination laws that should have been settled by the civil rights act.

They don't even have the guts to stick to their "convictions."

So far, I've managed to stay out of maximum security prison, and so have you.

Such thoughts have never crossed my mind, so prison has never been even a remote possibility.

The sponsor of Georgia's controversial "religious freedom" bill says the measure is dead for this legislative session. That's the second consecutive year that the anti-gay bill has flamed out.

“I do not expect further developments,” Sen. Joshua McKoon, R-Columbus, said in an email about his Senate Bill 129. McKoon says the legislation would prevent government from intruding into religious practice, while opponents claim it would cause discrimination against

That's like saying nearly 100% of the people agreed that they want to see change, therefore government has a mandate to make changes.

I ran across a news story about a small Pizzeria in Indiana owned by a Christian family who were supposedly picked at random by an ABC57 new reporter, who asked if they would cater a gay wedding. The response to the hypothetical question was that they would not fir religious reasons, although they had never turned away a customer for religious reasons. After the news story aired, social media posts much similar to what appear in this thread arose, falsely claiming Memories Pizza to be the first business to publicly deny service to LGBT people along with the phone number of the Pizzeria resulting in death threats and other forms of harassment causing them to close and ponder moving.

Maybe the RFRA needs to be modified to assure adequate protection in light of the violence some have proven willing to exert on those who have religious convictions that harm no one.

They will be okay. They have a GoFundMe account with over 200K contributed so far.

They should also file suit against ABC57 and collect some damages.

And without adding one cent to the growing national debt. Who says Americans are not charitable?

    Here's the video:

The news crew got the tense wrong possibly, the shop is stating that they will deny some service in the future, and they are presently in the process of stating that denial at the time of the filming.

However, that is no excuse for death threats and intimidation. I would think that they are covered under existing anti discrimination and terrorism laws for that. And I would think those threats are being investigated, but I don't know for sure.

As to the legitimate backlash, individuals, or groups of citizens can legally institute a boycott of any business.

Does 'Memories Pizzeria' provide catering service? I wonder how many businesses ABC57 looked into before choosing 'Memories Pizzeria' to pose their question?
