    kaiser mean in german? my sister said it means cheese? is that true cause we have a great band called the kaiser chiefs and i wanna know what kaiser is. cheers

    Hm. "Kaiser" means a kind of king. But the exact translation? I`ll look it up... It´s emperor! And by the way: the German word for "cheese" is "Käse".

    julius caesar was a 'kaiser' and there the name comes from; caesar kaesar kaiser :)

    The modern english translation would be "emperor". The spelling in english of the correct german pronunciation however would be "kiser" as in "cider"! The english spelling for the correct pronunciation of the german word for cheese "Käse" however would be "caisa".
