That sounds like a cokeheadedly teacher-friend of mine. He always bragged about how he could ramble the entire class and would always play head games with people.

He'd give us this literary terms quiz every week until people memorized the answers (multiple choice) and when people would start catching on, he'd randomly changed the answers... though, sometimes he'd make alphabetical patterns/analogies that we'd have to figure out.
