That is exactly what I do.
Some people just don't understand that all you need is love.
I come to school everyday and hear stupid things though, such as "Oh that bitch stole my boyfriend, I'm gonna beat the shit out of her" or other stupid stuff like, "That chick said that other chick said something about me, I'm gonna mess her up." But all I do is keep my heart full of love, and tell them, you don't need to fight man, no way it's going to solve anything, but I just get criticized man. It's not easy, just like John Lennon and Yoko said, "We're only trying to get us some peace, Christ you know it ain't easy."

 

We have to break the cycle of hatred ~ and with people like you who are showing the world the love in your heart, will help. We really have to put an end to all the hatred in this world. I really think that your attitude is a step in the right direction.

totally agree. it can be hard but ur never gonna be happy if ur always waiting for something to happen. or if you wait for love before you love bacj. its just how it works. so many people dont get it

 

I guess it helps that I have found my love. He is very dear to me, and I strive to share this love he makes me feel. I want everyone to be happy, and to feel a love as great as I do.

 

stop being violent. Stop hating other people. Open your minds. Love one another. stop hurting others. Live and let live.

 

I wake up and listen to 'I want to break free'

That keeps me happy and loving for the rest of the day

As a real hippie I don't even wake up every morning. Also, hippies are only human, you can't love everyone. Live and let live is sometimes the best you can do in my opinion.

 

I'm a hippie - at least that's what the media labelled us in '66: and I lived in the Haight during that time. We were a very diverse group of people who had one thing in common- we believed that we could change the world with LOVE. Unfortunatley, the real world, with all it's greed and selfishness, changed alot of individual hippies' beliefs. But I believe that love is still the answer and I will go to my grave believing it.

Well, I was of course just kidding at the real hippie thing, personally I don't like to seriously call myself hippie or be called one. I think love and acceptance are very important answers for worldpeace as well, but although we can love humanity as a whole, we can't love every individual. Neither do we need to.

i think that you are completely right and even thou i am a hippie of a diff. generation i want you to know that, that message of love is still tru in many today at least in me and striving for the world to just love is still living on in the new generation

 

"Live and let live" and "treat others the way I'd want to be treated"...those're my mantras.
They work, trust me.
I'm a first year university student, and I can honestly say that all through elementary school and highschool, I've never been in a single fight with anyone there. Gossip, fist fights, NONE.
And I prefer it that way.

Life's too short to spend picking fights with people

That love still exists today.
It's just harder to find.

 

Peace n' love-
it's nice to see that there is a new generation of hippies out there that believe in the simple philosophy that love can really change the world. It's not always going to be easy- and you will encounter obstacles along the way- but just remember--- always have faith because you will always be as beautiful as you feel.

Asmodean- If you really want to see world peace- you just can't love indiscriminantly- you have to love everybody. Just because some people may be real pricks, those are the ones that really need to be loved. Love can turn those people around. I know that as a male, people are constantly threatening your masculinity- but you know who you are- just keep your heart open and loving.

I certainly do not agree. I'm already glad I can uphold the live and let live idea with some people. I'm with flaming pie on the "treat others the way I'd want to be treated" though, but I don't spread my love to them.

I'm sorry, some people can't be turned around. It's the simple reality. Some real pricks maybe can, but not all. Some just have a complete different mindset that won't be changed if you try to make them understand you love them. On the contrary most likely.
I don't feel threatened in my masculinity by the way, I know who I am indeed (and other people as well), and although I don't love everyone I will keep my heart open and loving for sure.
