Right now I'm trying to get back into writing, and oftentimes I have to lock myself in the room, put on headphones and sing really loudly, or vibe to music. Unusual music can put me there. Like now I'm listening to one of the newer Robyn's, I'm a former/whatever dancer so I bought it to dance to, but it makes me feel reminiscent, and right now I NEED it to write.

But I think if anyone knew what I was listening to they'd think I was not myself. It really helps to put me in the zone right now. Singing it too, is really essential for me.

What puts you in the zone and for what specifics?

btw I'm writing poetry. Of the personal nature.

ganja, most definitely. and good tunes. something like the doors, or jimi hendrix, who both have trippy, inspiring lyrics. but yeah, the ganja sure does it for me.

Usually if I read something really good, or have an interesting thought. I only need to write when I have an idea.

yeah, totally. i can't just sit down and try to write something. it has to come from an idea or something first. it's the same with drawing for me, although i normally don't know what i'm going to draw when i start.

ya this is probably a main issue with me and writing "the zone" can be so hard to get there when u try it manually...

well wut gets me "in the zone" is like working, dirt biking, the internet (researching); i think its kinda strange that working and dirt biking do it (anything similar and gets me in the same state of mind)

since the zone only happens to me when im penless, i try to write a footnote down so i can kick off on the same idea at a more opprotune time. i like at least having a list of ideas to write about cuz i hate having a great idea and forgeting it (tho sometimes it may be better forgot wut u thought was "good," than find out later its a retarded idea lol)

unfortunatly ive got bigger dreams than ambision, so my ideas usually dont even make it down on paper...

sleeping, waking up in the middle of the night with a idea, scramble it down on a pice of paper, and if i'm lucky i understand it the next morning. and can write.

ya i was sorta tired last night (haha excuses) ya i ment like when im in situations that make it impossible to write down ideas, thats when i seem to be the most potentially productive with writing (all i need is pen and paper to make it kinetic production)

lol ya that did definately need further explaning

Sometimes music helps, but it has to be without lyrics, or they influence my words. I can also use something that's in a foreign language I don't understand for the same reason. It depends on what I'm going for. I'm best at dialog and characterization, and weakest at poetry, so I usually have to "hear it" in my head before I can get it out on paper.

I like to go to places where people have "fly tipped" (it means where they have illegally disposed of household waste and building materials) I start looking at the used items that were once useful, I almost enter a trancelike state and find myself staring at certain things and its as though at that point a whole array of meaning enters my thoughts. I get a feeling like these goods demonstrate the passage of time, but while I am looking at the goods time stands still. It starts off as a feeling of curiosity, but always ends in an overpowering sense of sadness or loss. Once I leave this state of trance it always occurs to me that i have given myself enough to think about so that when I get home I can begin a fresh idea and often there is at least ten paragraphs that I can recite almost word perfect. Its not that I write the finished goods in my head but that I at least have the ideas. I sometimes stay at these places for over an hour sometimes 2 hours. Usually I find it works best on a very hot day and if the waste has been tipped in somewhere normally considered beautiful, it is always too a very isolated place. I find them often by accident. It is not that I am thinking about the words I will write while I am in that trance state, the words are just there and I dont reccolect having thought about them
I do not feel the urge to write unless that state happens to me.
Lately I have thought about photographing these "fly tips"

Hmmm. Someone tried to start one near my place and I got his bills from the bags and dobbed him in. Not such a creative response but the riverbank looks nice again ;)

    hmm there is that,
Yes I dont consider the fact they flytipped to be beautiful but
there is something in the fact that they got rid of the goods that they did
You are right they need to be caught, the people who do it, but I cant help getting inspiration this way. Last time it was just four empty oil drums and some old newspapers that did it
