A great many gather once each year
Laying on the grass and blankets
    Chatting about their problems
A beer or two for good times
    Children running happily around.
    The show starts,
    Color lights the sky,
    Some cheer "freedom",
    Some "ooo" and "ahh".

    I saw a different show...

I saw as each work lit the sky,
    Blossoming and exploding out,
A missile at the end of each stream,
    Representing the lies and innocence.
Lies of a country for their war games,
    Innocence for the bombed countries,
The people's death cries of "stop the fighting",
    Children shaking, tremoring, bleeding.
    I saw the corruption,
And people doing NOTHING about it!

10 Million share the belief at very least,
    That war solves nothing.
10 Million gathered not wanting war.

    It is my belief,
    The people are needing, waiting,
For someone, one person whose strong enough,
To lead the people, to fight back war-
    The freedom to kill...

Whose that one person going to be?
    You? Me? Another president? Jesus?
    The fact is,
    We all have a voice,
    We're not using it,
Some are and politicians don't respect it.

    I'm not a religious man,
But can't you see the Bush is burning?

These thoughts are attached to each firework.

    While some ended with cheering,
    I felt like crying.

great work instinct dude .... you're saying what every peace loving earthling should
... enough war man ... how many more young men and women have to die fighting for who knows what? why can't politicians give peace a chance? John died for peace and still we don't understand. Great prose ... peace man.
