Someone (not necessarily me) was an acid cooker, and mass produced the stuff. Then, instead of selling for street prices, started selling for what acid used to sell for. Not large-scale selling, but just individual hits. 1-3 bucks a hit, and cheap in bulk too. Since most acid comes from limited sources, could this effectively reduce the price of LSD across the country?
If you somehow managed to produce the stuff in MASS quantities and found a way distribute it to a MASSIVE amount of people, then yes, it could conceivably drive down acid prices. But, you're gonna have a tough time doin that without getting caught. You would have to get a large organization of people together devoted entirely to the sales and distribution of acid, and another group for the compilation of materials and for the actual synthesis itself. There was similar things going on back in the 60s, and some remanents remain today (I've witnessed firsthand some of their innerworkings- very neat), but things were different back then. LSD was a new phenomenon, the hippy movement was consuming the majority of America's youth, and LSD was less expensive and cumbersome to actually make and distribute from scratch. If you want to start an underground organization, count me in, but you're gonna have to get a ton more honest, intelligent people in with you.
You should try out your macroeconomics experiment with oil first. That would be cool! (gas is like $4.50 a gallon where I live).
I once emailed Bear (owsley) asking him about how to do LSD manufacturing properly and he said to me: "The only thing that makes other's acid different to my effort would be a lack of devotion to absolute purity. Purity means discarding perhaps 20% as unrecoverable during the process. That is hard for most cooks to do, because they have a $ motive rather than the proper one. To do it right, money cannot be a factor."
This would not be driven by profit at all. Hell, if I had the resources, I would make and distribute acid at no cost. But that would allow dishonest and greedy people to set their own prices. So by selling it as cheap as possible on a large scale, I could somewhat set a price for the market. This situation was a hypothetical "what-if", with no restrictions on collection of materials and synthesis. It's good to know that, should this idea blossom, there are at least a few people willing to help. I know of a few in my hometown that would gladly put time in to help with this project. The more I consider what lies ahead in my life (I'm 14 and a freshman in high school), the more I consider shying away from conventional living, and the urge grabs at me to contribute to something for the good of people and society.
it is a good idea whether or not you can reduce the cost of LSD across the country. providing LSD to people at a low cost is a good thing even if only a few thousand people get to enjoy it. do what ever you can and if you guys can make an impact in the world market then great but don't count on it. what you guys are doing is good enough in itself. keep it up and you will be rewarded in many ways.
Well it hasn't been done yet. And I need to get out of my parents house and start to learn to cook before I can get going for real. The more I think about it the more this becomes a viable project in my eyes.
oh, i guess that was the 'what if' part... go for it man, we need as many people we can get with your mentality making the stuff. i am sure you are aware that what you speak of is a long process and will take a lot of hard work. the fact that you want to do this for reasons that do not involve making a huge profit will ensure that you succeed. i am sure you will be one of the people who makes it pure.
Well if you really want to do it, on a 'change the world for the better' type scale...why don't you go to college and study to be a chemist or whatever?
...or go to lots of concerts, once they let you in the venues. A lot of people may consider it a bit young to be cooking acid @ 14. Do some reasearch and hear some music for 4 years. Don't get caught breaking laws. Read books. Peace, love!
Oh, and to give some insight to the original post, it's my understanding that the guys who used to sell it for $5 a dose, $30 a ten strip, $120 a sheet, were approached by thier suppliers, who suggusted rasing the prices. Nobody really complained (well, of course they did, but then the went ahead and paid $10 a hit). It would be interesting to see it return to $5 a hit.
i would like to support the underground acid but its not gonna happen via internet you need to get a crew whop are smart and intelligent ill be availible in 3 yrs lol i live in a small town in IL where ppl do cook their own stuff for bout 6$ a hit i have learned the trade on both sides of the market it would be hard to start a revolution like this but may i suggest coming to the mid west where there are tons of festies concerts and communes and tons of hippies willing to help
i would be totally down to help. the only problem is it would be rediculusly stupid to organize it on the internet. so there would be virtually no way for any of us to get in contact. also just cause yyou sell it for 2 a hit and those people sell it for 2, somewhere down the line, someone will see a chance for major profit and sell it for 10 with $8 pure profit for each hit. the drug community is not honest enough for this kind of stuff. what you should do is just ask your supplier to introduce you to his supplier one day. start buying form that guy and eventually ask to meet his supplier. keep going up the line and eventually you will get it for very cheap and you can sell for your own price. maybe you can even learn the art of cooking for yourself that way. thats what i plan on doing one day
Needed in your formula is the very high costs associated with manufacturing LSD ( precurser chemicals, lab equipment, space to synthesis) and the absolutley ridiculous risk that is involved. These costs do not include the real risks and costs which are ones freedom for a very long time. ( Look at Pickard-two life terms) There is a balance between idealism and reality and in my opinion, obtaining a drug like LSD for under $10 a dose for a 8 hour life changing event, is one of the best deals on the planet when one considers the risks associated with getting that life changing substance into your hands.
