...that makes people so compelled to answer it? Some of my friends go frantic racing to answer the phone- running, tripping, stubbing toes, nearly breaking a leg. No other stimulus invokes such a frantic response. The psychologists should study the phenomenon. .
No kiddin. My wife and I dont take a ringing phone as any signal to actually answer it. If it is convenient and we would like to talk we will answer, otherwise it just rings out.
yea, i know many people who will rush to get the phone...i don't, and most times i could care less who called. i'll check messages later when its convenient for me
All my friends communicate through email and IM. A ringing phone is almost never somebody I want to talk to.
haha a phone ring is annoying as fuck. I dont answer it to get to the phone to talk on it, I pick it up to shut it the fuck up, and the i have to deal with the asshole calling. I hate the phone. the ringtone for my cell phone is The Funeral March by Mozart.
I let it ring. I never get good news over the phone. Just bad. And even worse it might be a bill collector. So yeah I let it go. That is why we have voice mail. Peace
I hate phones and I screen my calls. It's usually 1-800 something anyway...I wish they would just eat my shorts...
It may just be me, but I hate beeping/buzzing/ringing noises. So, when I hear my phone ringing, I either answer it or hit the mute button rather quickly. Though, I really hate answering the phone. So, often time I just ignore it.
My phone is always on vibe. When I hear it buzzing, I admit it, I go a little stir crazy till I can dig it out from wherever it is...only sometimes though. Sometimes, I leave it at home, and that's fine too...
i would imagine the urgency comes from the fact that when the phone is ringing, you typically only have a few seconds to answer it. it became especially bad for me once my parents got an answering machine, because the machine would answer it after just 3 rings so at times we would need to jump up and run if hoping to actually answer the thing. lately i start to get up if i hear a phone on tv too...
Not me. Most times when I hear my phone ringing my first thought is "oh God, now what?!" It seems like my phone forever rings at the worst times, right when I'm in the middle of something...so more often than not, I let the answering machine take the call and then call whoever it is back later when I get a moment to talk. Do you know how hard it is to have a conversation with anyone on the phone with three young children around, all competing for your undivided attention, despite the fact that they all practically ignored you moments ago?
yeah I'm pretty notorious for not answering my phone. or leaving it at home. or breaking/losing it. (I'm talking cell phone of course, we haven't had a house phone in about 6 years)
