What is the point of rules of war. The geneva convention for example, or back in the day when they were honorable about their battles and castles and shields and swords. What happens if you break those rules. "Oh, it doesn't count, you cheated". If the cheaters cheat and win, then they win. I don't understand.

Don't shoot the medic. Someone shoots the medics, and then all the wounded people are fucked, therefor less troops, and the other side is more frightened of the cheating side because they don't give a fuck.

    Conversation anyone???

The geneva convention rules are obvious. They're there for humanity. 'If there is to be a war, let's make some concessions.'

That said, war is stupid. But, unfortunately, there are evil people in the world who sometimes need stopping.

The idea is that anyone violating the conventions would be condemned by the entire international community. However some (the USA, most notably) violate them routinely, with no consequence. The UN is pretty much obsolete, if they ever had any use at all. Nuremburg was definitely their high point.

I am completely ashamed of my governments actions in this 'war against terrorism' I believe bush should be tried for his war crimes.

I understand that terrorists would probably not treat us in accordance with the Geneva convention, but we're not terrorists. We're suppose to be a world leader. How does it make the families of soldiers/sailors/marines feel knowing that if their loved one is captured, they can be assured they will be tortured, or worse?

    Maybe I'm too liberal.
