I've eaten raw wallaby meat in Australia (We were in the bush, and quite hungry!)....and some crocodile there too. Also ostrich wasnt too bad, but thats not that rare. I ate snails for the first time the otherday ...they were ok, the texture was pretty gross though!
how many people have watched their meal continuously from killed- to butchered- to eaten? that is good too
Blood sausage isn't considered strange in Europe. Strangest thing I ate was probably this spider in Cambodia. Take out the legs and suck the meat of that. But then again, for them that is not weird. So my conclusion is that it depends on your culture and upbringing what is considered strange food.
Kangaroo, snails, alligator. I'm a pretty adventurous eater but I would have to draw the line at spiders and bugs
moose tongue got a good gulp full of old acidic motor oil once while siphoning...tried to puke most of it but im sure some made its way through me
bull testicles, cow tongue, beef heart, pig liver, pig intestines, pig heart, chicken heart, cow stomach, frog legs, squirrel, pig feet, raw salmon and raw tuna by the pound... favorites out of those would be cow stomach, delicious as an authentic mexican soup. the pig intestines from my favorite chinese restaurant cooked with hot peppers. also the pig feet from the same chinese restaurant are awesome. and the salmon and tuna i buy super fresh from a farmers market.
The strangest thing I've ever eaten is durian. Durian is a fruit that grows in the Philippines. Don't eat it. EVER. It smells like sweaty sneakers and it's texture feels like soggy bread in your mouth. I remember being so disgusted by it that it was a struggle to swallow. My throat kept wanting to barf it back out.
We call it black pudding in the UK, its not so popular anymore. Did you have it cold or cooked? It's actually quite nice fried or off a bbq.
I don't eat much that is strange, but I guess a bowl of white rice with a whole stick of butter with a whole bottle of A1 sauce. :2thumbsup:
