Spinach n brockley, spinach n brockely. Not very exotic I know - but steam cooked with a little butter is delicious. I did try eating kelp when we ran out of food on an island once - then we ran out of tobacco so we dried it.Didn't work too well though - sets the throat on fire
Yeah, I try to steer clear of canned goods altogether, although we have peaches and pears packed in plastic tubs that are quite good.
Fruits: Blackberries... Pears... Strawberries... KIWI!!!! hehehe Vegetables: Tomatoes: sliced thin with a little sugar on top... Cucumbers are awesome with vinegar and salt on them... It's like a fresh pickle! And beets! Pickled beets are the bestest ever... Squash is good as well but only in winter... And I couldn't live without potatoes... This list could go on forever... Wait, I forgot green and yellow string beans!
beans and squash...yummy! I love squash, summer squash, winter squash, any kind of squash (that includes pumpkin and cucumbers in my book). watermelons and apples are my favorite fruits, but not if they are overripe. I'll eat some things from cans, but not everything. Most of it's overcooked and oversalted and overprocessed. I do like frozen veggies and even fruits, though, when I can't get fresh or if it's the sort of thing that will just rot in my fridge before I get around to eating it.
i got my tomatoes and brussels sprouts already started indoors ..be a month before it's safe to put thenm in the ground ....last absolute frost day here is may 26th or 27th
