For reasons better left unexplained i no longer have an album collection and am contemplating starting over...i used to own The Beatles White album on white vinyl...what about you?
nothing rare, but i like my allman brothers band records, I have pink floyd the wall, and some other stuff
I have a few rare private press of "The wind children"...and an original 12" Run DMC walk this way single
yea same recently i found he had an original press of Master of Reality by Black Sabbath from back in '71. i was like fuck yes the speakers we have hooked up to our record player are so fucking kickass, sound 10x better than my computer Still i listen to music with the computer way more than vinyl because i can't chill while on the comp as i listen... if only i had that record player in my room...
My Brother has about 600 original vinyl, If i get a camera or a decent memory one of these days, i'll write up a list.
Ive been collecting for a little over five years and got a collection of about 270 records. Most arent that rare but some are. I've got a very nice copy of The White Album stamped number 717,710 which dates it as an 1968 pressing (I strictly break up my weed in this record), a 1966 Spanish pressing of Revolver (bought in Madrid, Spain a few years ago), a mint DJ Copy of Bloomfield, Kooper, Stills' Super Session (badass album if youve never heard it, Mike Bloomfield is the dude in my sig and he was one of the nastiest guitar players to ever live), an Original Master Recording copy of Dark Side of the Moon (cut at half speed, sounds amazing), a 1966 pressing of The Paul Butterfield Blues Band's East West, a beat up 1967 Tower Records pressing of Piper At The Gates of Dawn (no Astronomy Domine, found it for a buck in a Byrds record sleeve), and a DJ Copy of Dr. John's Gumbo. If you dig collecting records Columbus Ohio is your town, theres about a handful of really good record stores in the area and a record show every few months where you can find about anything. About a week ago I found a copy of Pink Floyd's Obscured By Clouds (never seen this record anywhere before) for 4 bucks in a thrift store but it had no fucking record in the sleeve, I was so pissed. Peace, love, dope, and happy hunting.
^^i used to listen to mike bloomfield ''tubular Bells'' in high school..i have decided to definately start a new collection..i do still have a copy of the canadian release o f beatles a hard days night..mine is the movie sound track release..i have looked online but have found many called a hard days nite with different covers..none with my cover...also does anyone know the best method to clean a vinyl record
ever go to the dump?...I bought a whole box of LPs yesterday for a buck..there was a lot of old stuff...even an old Grateful dead....and a Smurfs and Fraggle Rock this was the one
you can buy a record cleaning kit which will clear off all the dust and other air particles that have gotten on it, look on amazon.com
m thinking of buying a nice record player and starting a collection of repressed albums... Nothing beats good old records...
i buy vinyls whenever i can so far i have sgt. peppers, frampton comes alive, best of the doors, dark side of the moon, zeppelin 2, blues for allah, Righteous Brothers loving feeling, yes-parelells, and a few other that i cant remember...yet i dont have a working record player :/ lol
using most cloths, towels or rags can damage the record though... the ones that you buy come with a special fluid and a super soft material that won't damage the vinyl
