These are serious questions I'd like all of you to answer:

    1. What kind of proof do you require in order for you to know there is a higher power if existence isnt enough and/or what other ppl claim to have witnessed to know isn't enough?

    2. Would you only want a proof that could be shared with others so they wont think you're crazy? Or would you not be so picky and just want any kind of proof period so you could know there is a higher power?

    3. Would that higher power have to be in line with what man made religion/beliefs says or not with you in order to be prooven as a higher power in the first place? (in other words, would you limit your perception of proof because of man?)

    4. How do you feel about a communication to yourself from a higher power? Would that even be proof enough or would you just brush it off as if that only means you are crazy just because other ppl would call you that just for telling them that?

    5. Are you the kind of person that would deny the existence of a higher power if you did infact have some sort of the proof? And why to your answer?

    6. What would a voice come into your mind that made an intelligent seeming coherent sentence mean to you?

    A) There is a higher power
    B) There is a such thing as ghosts
    C) There is a such thing as demons
    D) There is a such thing as the devil
    E) It's just your imagination gone astray
    F) You are crazy
    G) Other (explain???)

^^^Or would it depend on what was said and how it was said?

i would not ascribe to god a higher power . i don't think power is at all relational . above is more-so . it is a common metaphor for respect , which is a common child-like idea of natural repect and the towering parent . oops , but the parent is powerful . the parent quite often expects , say , good behavior .

    god is simply above .
    respectable .
a feeling of kindness comes with an experience of god
and kindness is purely respectable when no expectation is attached to it .

how can a breath of wind be kind ?

one must find god in nature . it's not much , but god can blow the winds about a bit . either god can , or i can . the experience is oddly communal . i reason it , and doubt then first against myself . i don't seem to be a bender of spoons either .

a breath of wind in the sky ... it can hold fantastical words . closer to home it can bless a new drum with a whirlwind . twice blessed is nice . knowing will happen twice . this is the witness of existence .

    1. There is no proof, at least empirical. Anyone can claim to have an encounter with a higher power but that doesn't make it so. I thought cops were surrounding the building I was staying at and going to arrest me for making meth when a) there was no one outside b.)I hadn't slept in 5 days c.) I didn't make meth. Did that make the experience less real to me? No, it still is as real in my mind as the night it happened. The only difference is that I realize that I was in the depths of mania and not everything that felt or seemed real was. I can't tell anyone for sure what happened during those days because I can't trust my perception, especially while manic (or depressed).

    2. It doesn't matter to me if there is a higher power because it doesn't affect my life in any way. So there's god? Okay. So what? What's your point? My life isn't going to change in any way because it is the way it is and no higher power is going to make life any easier. Shit would not be different and I would still have a disorder that makes my life seemingly unbearable at times. No higher power is going to change that.

    3. I don't believe that man can prove the existence of a higher power, so why bother wasting your time? Just because there are accepted belief systems used by man to define what a higher power is doesn't make them correct. There could be a genetic or neurological explanation why men create higher powers. It could be a hardwired trait that is programmed in mankind's collective mind to believe in higher powers.

Let's examine this more closely. Perhaps the mind creates the idea of a higher power to explain the unexplainable, to soothe the brain which knows too much. After all, we are the only animals that recognize their own mortality. Perhaps creating a higher power is a defense mechanism to reassure the mind that it will not be destroyed with the body.

    4. I would be more apt to dismiss it as auditory hallucinations. After all, I've heard my roommate clearly say my name when I was at home by myself. The mind can play tricks and if I thought I heard a voice speaking to me, I would make sure that my brain isn't fucking with me by seeing a doctor. It doesn't matter if people think I'm crazy because I am (ask Sign Related)

    5. How can I answer this when there is no proof? Theoretically, if a higher power appeared in some sort of vision, I would go to a hospital and make sure that the area of the brain that creates visual hallucinations wasn't going into overdrive.

    6. My doctors were wrong about their diagnosis of bipolar disorder and I actually am schizoaffective and my seroquel dose needs to be upped and/or I am on the wrong medication. I would hope that my fiance would take me to a good hospital with good doctors who can recognize psychosis and properly treat me. Let them do MRI's and CAT and PET scans to see if my brain is misfiring or functioning irregularly.

All in all, I believe that there is a flow to life, the tao, "god", words are inadequate to express the essence of what is, a flow of energy. But a higher power? I doubt there is a being watching over me or demons or devils or angels or anything relating to a different dimension because the truth is that this is all that is. The Now. Either be present in the Now or sleepwalk through your life, whether you spend your time imagining there are higher powers or just simply living in the past or present. It's your choice.

    Peace and love

it's unfortunate to be unable to hallucinate normally - variations in neuron firings can be so fun and interesting . they are also important to the way of knowledge as perspective and are natural to the completeness of the psyche . natural to the creation of art and music .

    deny no part of existence

    you cannot trust your Fear

"Proof" is food for the mind, which is also the source of all illusion.

"God" can only be known directly. The mind has to move aside.

    1. I thought I was the high power until I found out I wasn't. I believed I was God because it seemed logical and scientific. I started trying to get something I wanted as hard as I could but ended up giving up. At first I thought I just couldn't, later on I found out I just gave up too easily. Either way, when I thought I couldn't, I no longer believed I was the high power so existence was enough to prove to me that there was. Basically - God showed me I wasn't God by helping me do something I couldn't do by myself
    2. Before I knew there was a God I didn't care. Now that I know the nature of God I care more about other people than myself so, yes.
    3. It wouldn't have to be, but it would be nice for it to be as close as possible :) Offend as little people as possible.
    4. PLEASE SPECIFY WHAT KIND OF COMMUNICATION
    5. Would depend on the proof. Theres a lot that I dont trust.
    6. I would ask God what the voice was.

God is the part of you you cannot see.

It is something that can only be felt. The mind has no capacity to contain but a vague concept. You must master compassion, without it , you will always be an island.

You must feel the pain of others as they feel it themselves. It will teach you how all things are connected.

i require no proofs because there are no such things as proofs, only preponderances of objective, indipendently observable, observations. there are no absolute requirements for anything to not exist. just simply equally none for what ever does, to bear the slightest resemblence to what anyone thinks they know about it.
