I found a place to explain what my opinion of what LSD does to you! This is an opinion based on my personal experience. I've taken LSD dozens if not a hundred times. I didn't do it to get high, I did it because it got me to a level of awareness that I want to someday live in, sober. I believe that LSD has the potential to wake up your subconsious to your normal consciousness. Allowing you to be aware of things only your subconsious is aware of. Your subconscious is actually a part of everything and everyone around you, it is your environment. To be one with your environment is not some mystical idea. You, at least your subconscious, is already one with your environment. It IS your environment. The reason I believe this is because I experienced this regularly during my journeys. I, I use the term "I" loosely because my ego was gone, was able to perform feats of dexterity, hearing, strength, I had complete control of my environment, and complete control (not in a selfesh or malicious manner) of those around me. I could speak what those around me were thinking before they said it. I, (again, "I" loosely) simply knew. My awareness was complete. Many times I got to realization that LSD is really nothing. Just a bridge to what is already there. I've tripped with many people. And many people, some who were good friends, became very irritating to be with while on LSD. They were too caught up in "tripping" out. Indulging in the effects and missing the bigger picture of what is available to be aware of. I got to a point where I would only trip with people who sincerely wanted to have an insightful experience, and I was their guide. Ego has no place in this experience. Your ego can cause you to go nuts while on LSD, literally, if you don't let it go. I've seen it. This is a mature level (for lack of a better word) of experiencing LSD. I'm posting this partly because I have yet to meet someone who really gets this as I have. I'm sure there are a few of you out there. I was hoping someone here might know what I'm talking about. If you are new to the experiences and interested in where LSD can get you, I hope you find this helpful.
yea man. lsd definitely acts as a catalyst to induce spiritual awareness and bring about the subconscious into consciousness. it's crazy what synchronicity can bring out once you reach a certain level of awareness. it's easy to fall into grace with an enviroment where there is little or no truth, or where people aren't convicted in their beliefs. but to experience an enviroment where there is alot of truth and conviction is a totally different matter. you won't be able to 'control your enviroment' like that of an enviroment where there is no truth. i attribute this to the fact that truth holds a higher density and thus has a greater effect on the enviroment around you. but still, deception can easily find it's way in there in the guise of truth if you aren't careful. hopefully you follow what i mean. i've had times where i experienced empathy to the point where i could sense other people's emotions. although, i had to do some meditation to try to tone it down a bit because it was a bit intense being out in public with all the different variations of people and their mindstates.
excellent post. out of my closest 10 friends who trip LSD, there is really only one maybe two people that actually trip "for enlightenment". All my other friends are just oblivious to the fact that LSD does more than give you visuals, very frustrating sometimes. I guess some people just are not ment to find out.
No more for you Desos, I'm cutting you off oliceman: Here's some of my thoughts on what LSD does to you; http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/showthread.php?t=404634&f=117
lol. well it is true that it is easier to exert your will onto an enviroment where there is no truth, as opposed to an enviroment where there is lots of truth. (without sounding too narcissistic, it's a simple fact)
where can i get a truthomometer desos? i think my neighbours watch jersey shore or something because my truthity has been plunging down and down the last few days, i need to reseal my windows or something? come on man..
lol. i've always held that there is an objective standard of truth. without one the universe would be plunged into chaos. dharma, karma, good, evil, love, fear, are these not all measures of truth?
fear as a measure of truth? can you explain? my mother is afraid of watching animals eat other animals on nature shows. Explain how this is "a measure of truth".
so what does your term "a measure of truth" really mean? I feel like you are just waxing poetic with all these terms, love, karma, good, evil, truth, etc, and that you aren't actually saying anything lol ok, so fear is the opposite of love, ok i guess that's plausible in some sense, so what that it gives us the opportunity to overcome it? cancer also gives you the opportunity to overcome it, is cancer "a measure of truth"? it is for me, but i have a feeling we are not on the same page about things
Maybe the less you fear you have, the closer to truth you are, because the more you understand, the less fear is there, and if you truly understood it all, there would be no fear. Is that what your trying to say?
i guess when i am talking about truth i am just talking about a person's dharma as it relates to their karma. whereas we all have different paths to go down, and we all have our own measure of what we hold to be true, but there is a universal standard that all beings are held accountable to. like gravity, but in a more metaphysical sense. the closer we follow to our individual dharma the closer we can be to achieving unity. for some people, their dharma is similar, for others, their dharma varies greatly from eachother. this 'gravity' or 'universal truth' as is relates to the individual, the family, the society, is what i would hold as truth. it could be as simple as saying unity is truth. i see life as progression from our beings here, a low frequency, fearful and scattered society, to that of being one of greater harmony and purpose. so whereas fear comes in as a measure of truth, the fear is there to confront us in a manner in which we are ill-equipped, in order for us to be able to learn from that particular point in time and grow. yes, pretty good way to phrase it.
I don't think fear is the opposite of love. The only fear I remember feeling recently was only felt because of love. Both fear and love are part of the human condition, and they go hand-in-hand, in many instances. "Truth" is often a matter of perspective. Perceived truth can only be accurately measured when the whole picture is taken into account. Cancer is a source of fear for most/all people who experience it, either directly or indirectly, but it can also be a means for finding one's true strength and courage. I suppose fear, strength, and courage all go hand-in-hand too though. LSD can bring all of these things to the surface. Strength and courage THROUGH fear and love, and truth through an altered perception.
Truth is what is real to the observer. If you don't believe it, just ask them Is there an ultimate truth? Probably, but what matters is what YOU see as truth because that is what YOU base reality on. Everyone believes what is true to themselves, whether another believes it or not is not relevant to them. LSD can shatter what one once held as truth and it can uphold what another held as truth. To chase that rabbit is not useful in my opinion.
Actually Dr. Stan Grof said it was a non-specific amplifier of the human unconscious. He was also my Prof in College... A pretty cool dude who was the first to run controlled experiments on LSD seeking to find its secrets and to treat psychological conditions.
LSD baisically puts you in a whole different mind frame, so your awareness will not be the same, as will the rest of your functions... /////////////////////////////////////////////////// "You're nothing but a pack of cards!" -- says Alice in Wonderland
i think lsd just puts you in a really vivid dream where you are half awake and half in dream space for 6-10 hours, you can have a good dream or your can have a nightmare all depending on different factors of your external and internal stimuli
OP, I know exactly what you're saying. Ive heard the exact same thing from a couple of my close friends who have also had a similar psychedelic/cognitive journey as myself. They were the ones to first bring up the notion of having control of your environment, and also being able to say what people are thinking. This is the first time I've ever seen anyone else have the same ideas. One of my friends is horrible at putting things into words so when he first brought up these ideas to me, I wasnt fully sure about what he was talking about until much later but you do a much better job.
