Well in Christian theology, Jesus is part of the Holy Trinity and had some kind of existence before his incarnation on Earth. Therefore, he was a Christian right from the start. Although they also say he was Jewish, Jesus practiced Judaism because the Messiah hadn't walked the Earth until Him. I think it's all lies and he followed his own beliefs, as should everyone after him...
^Crap. Jesus was the equivalent of a Jewish Reform Rabbi. The Jews were waiting for their Messiah. When he came, those who embraced him became Christians. Those who didn't were still Jews. It's just that simple. Nowhere in the bible does it say that Jesus was anywhere or anything before his birth. Just that he was sent to to save and redeem us. So it's not even theology.
Idk I just thought of it.. was jesus practicing the jewish religion? Was the muslims saying he was muslim? and prayed to allah..
The same reason some Christians claim Moses was a Christian because he worshiped Yahweh "correctly". Jesus worshiped God "correctly" (i.e. Allah) therefore Jesus is Muslim.
Jesus was raised as a Jew. But like all mystics, religion has no meaning on the inside anymore. He spoke his heart, and somebody thought to write it down. That, was a mistake. The "word of God" can only be spoken by a living person. x
Jesus was Jewish. You have to understand this. If you do not know Judaism - on its own terms - then you cannot even guess the full meaning of Christianity. Jesus' teachings, and ONLY Jesus' teachings, define Christianity, as they must. But his sacrifice and every one of his teachings is an argument for a much more complete observance and practice of the Torah. It may be argued that Judaism is complete without the help of Christianity, but without Judaism, Christianity cannot fulfill its purpose. These are just my thoughts these days. Peace and Love
Oh, so many of the faiths are so similar that they all seem to blur together after a time. He'd have gotten along great with the Buddha. . .
Jesus was raised a Jew , and went to synagogue , but when he spoke his own opinions and interpetations of the teachings he heard there from the Rabbi...it raised a commotion within the synagogue , so , even though he was a practicing Jew growing up , he had his own beliefs as well.
Don't many jews, christians, muslims etc. have their own beliefs and still are jew, christian or muslim?
