What Romance movies do you like??

So, I've been in a total "I want romance" state of mind for some reason these past couple weeks, and I haven't seen a good romance film in ages.

Any recommendations?

I have heard that the movie "Before Sunrise" and "After Sunset" are good romance films. But I need some help since it's not really the genre I would pick out at a movie store.

 

I like the romance movies that dont work out in the end. Kind of like the Hamlet stuff.

It was actually shot in canada, a movie about romance and alzeimers...

I cant think of any others, I dont watch a lot of romance movies, but Before Sunrise and After Sunset are good. The Notebook is sweet, kinda corny, but sweet.

 

Don't know what you have and haven't seen, but these are my faves...

Amelie - if foreign films are okay.
It's a really nice, feel-good movie.
Then there is my favorite... the Princess Bride
Also, Pride and Prejudice!
I agree with Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, too.

 

ugh, speaking of romance movies, I saw the lamest one just yesterday...Gregory's girl...

One word: LAME!

And I mean, romance movies are generally already bad to begin with...But damn did that one take the cake for being totally freaking slow, boring, annoying and lame. My gf wondered what was up with all the boys faces, they were not attractive in the slightest. haha, "maybe it was just the hair" I replied.

So yah, don't see that 80s cheesetastic* movie.




*fantistically cheesy and lame, heh. I am buzzin.

 

amelie is one of my all time favorite romance movies....nontraditional as it may be.

there are a lot of good love stories out there, though.

I have seen all of the movie suggestions except for "Away From Her", which I have heard excellent reviews about. I will look at renting this movie.

 

every movie is a romance movie. no matter what the movie is supposed to be about, hollywood always manages to squeeze in a love story whether it fits or not. while i have yet to see it, i suspect schindler's list spent at least 70 minutes on some sort of love story...

 

Yeah, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind got the supreme hotness in it. Yikes, she's hot.

I wish I knew more romance movies... Or maybe I just can't think of any ATM.

 

I thought there would be romance in the HBO short series "Band of Brothers", but no. It's 6 full DVD discs of men at war.

 

There is Junebug but it's not exactly a romance movie.

I know a little drama: "You Can Count On Me" is also good.

I hate romance flicks. But The Lakehouse with Sandra Bullock is good.

 

I can't believe no one's mentioned the best film of all time, True Romance. great love story, great cast, awesome movie.
