What was God thinking? God created the world, and he could have created it any way he wanted, he made all the rules. But what did he do? He created people with the free will to choose what they wanted do. Then he created Hell to punish people for all eternity if they didn't do what he wanted them to do. It's like telling a kid, ok, you can either stay home and do your homework or you can go out and party all night. But when the kid goes out and parties all night, he gets punished forever. Not only that, God created Satan to tempt us to go out and party all night – God stacked the deck in favour of us going to Hell. Why would God create a world like that, in which people are punished for exercising the free will he gave us? He also created a world with pain, disease, starvation, war - every kind of emotional, mental and physical suffering. Is that anyway to convince people that they should love him? Every parent knows that you nurture your children by providing a loving, supportive environment. I guess there weren't any books on effective parenting around when God created earth. Why did he create people with so much hate and anger when he could have created people full of love and light?
Read Genesis, read the bible, Hell was created for the devil and his angels not man. God created Adam and Eve, Satan showed up, tempted Eve, she ate the apple when God said not to, sin came in, the rest is history. God created the angels before He created the earth, they have free will, Lucifer rebelled said "I shall be like the most High". God kicked him out of heaven, he took 1/3 of the angels with him. They've been at war with God ever since. That's why Satan showed up in the garden of Eden to get back at God and spoil creation. Later God so loved the world that He sent His Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life. Jesus came as a sacrifice for sin so we can be restored to a right relationship with God and go to heaven when we die. That's the way the story goes, I've paraphrased a lot but it's the general idea. Yes we have free will but there are consequences for the decisions we make. God wants us to choose and love Him of our own free will but why He made consequences for not loving/ choosing Him I don't know.?? Bustramp
Satan wanted to usurp the throne of God, Satan wanted to ascend the throne of God and be like the most High. God said No. Maybe God should have posted the dos and dont's of heaven. Maybe it was intrinsic, knowing God in all His glory like Satan did. God gave us the dos and dont's here on Earth. The only one who wants us in hell is Satan. That's the best way he can hurt God is to get His creation(humans) in hell. The Lord is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to knowledge of repentance. Bustramp
God didn't create hate, people embraced it by choice. 1.Heaven on earth 2.Man's evil choice 3.The earth we have now 4.Christ Returns and the earth we once had
I heard that you could party all night once a week and that all you would get was purgatory for two weeks.
I rarely go to church.... You can find God on your own. Church CAN be a good place to learn more about God however.
wow, that's interesting ... is that really how you read that statement? hmmmm ... i took it to mean that in order to answer the question depends on your perception of god ... as an example, do you perceive god as an external being separate from one's self or does god reside within the self (acceptance of god within one's heart or being) ... to conjecture of how or about what an external being thinks is kind of pointless ... to contemplate how an internal god would think you wouldn't have to go much farther than one's own thoughts to find the answer.
God was seperated from the human race early on, yet God even though He is a external being wants to be a big part of our life. Yet this can only occure if we ask His Son to enter are life. God will never force Himself on us. We must invite Him in. And that choice is ours alone to make. Yet once you do this, God's Spirit will enter our body and from that day forward, He will be a big part of our life.
It has everything to do with God, and it has something to do with, maybe, how we see Him. That depending on our perception, and our perception allows us to see God a certain way, from an indescribable force to a human-like image. From a leaf to an insect, to the eyes of a lover, to the universe manifest. I wonder what happens when we get snagged on one playful image?
Read and understand the bible before you criticize it. By taking anything out of context, your putting your words into an area where you won't be able to find them again.
God has no religion. God is simply love. God is our conscience. All religion(yes, even christianity) has SOME error. After reading many many many near-death expiriences, i have come to a conclusion that nobody goes to hell forever. Hell isnt fire and brimstone, its seperation from our creator when we die. We all had a choice to come here(earth). God told us what earth had in store for us and we agreed. Yano that good feeling you get when you give to others? or you demonstrate acts of love towards one another? Thats God. Every single one of us was put on this earth to do a job, whether its helping out someone, making someones life easier, bringing somone to christ, etc. The age old question is..what happens when we die? Is there an after-life? Why not read up on expiriences where people HAVE stared death in the face. Ill give you some links of some personal favorites. http://www.near-death.com/experiences/storm02.html http://www.near-death.com/smith.html Every single near death expirience has the same characterstics, when it comes from internet, books, real people telling me there NDE's, thats how i know there all true. There all over the internet, thats why im no longer afraid to die, im actually exited, i want to go home, i want to be with my father up in heaven. But i have a job to do, i dont want to let down the creator.
I like what you wrote smokindude. That explains perfectly life as I see it. I wish more people would see that. All religion has something wrong with it. It's just the way you see God and your relationship with Jesus and God.
First of all, love and our conscience did not create the universe. God did. Second, I would say if you base your belief on near death experiences you are falling into a very cleaver trap that has been designed to lead you away from Gods Words of truth. Hell is a real place, and the Bible clearly tell us that those who go there, go there forever. There are no return trips.
I myself have always wondered if God was sooooo powerful why did he not just kill the "Devil" when he tried to overtake the throne....Why leave him to "tempt" Gods creatures
Are you going to believe ancient scriptures orrrrr people who have died and went to heaven and found out alot there is to know about God and the way he works? Ill go with real life expirience.
Tell me oh so smart cambell, what happens with the muslims that are brought up ONLY knowing what there parents tell them? Is it there fault thats the only religion/way of life that they were told and they have to obey it? Ill be damned if you tell me that God will send them to hell forever and ever. Same with starving men and woman, who only live to survive and cant afford to think about religion and such, there just thinking of there next meal. Will the all loving God send them to hell forever for never knowing him? I dont think so bro.
