My wife, 16 month old son and I were rear ended on the interstate in Nashville by a pick up truck. We were in a little compact car. We were forced into a concrete barrier bounced off of it slid across 3 lanes of traffic and slammed into the center concrete divider. I ended up with a broken back and collar bone. Also, I bit a hole in my tongue and lower lip. My wife (ex wife now, thank god) broke her pelvic bone, ruptured her diaphram and all her lower internal organs were shoved up into her chest collapsing her left lung. My son barely got a scratch. We were laid up for a long time.
Wow man close calls. Thank God you guys made it. Must have been hell trying to care for your son while you were both hurting.
when i was 7 i was watching tv and eating an orange...something funny happened and i started laughing and a piece of orange got caught in my throat...i turned purple...my dad had to do the heimleich...then a year ago it happened again only i was at a bar and took a shooter there was a piece of plastic in it somehow..my friend angie had to do it again
for a couple years after my dad died I was completely insane. Quite a few times I tried to kill myself and didn't worry what happened to me at all. I put myself in stupid situations and for some reason am still alive?
i drowned twice before the age of four. at two i choked on almonds my sister gave me (i always knew she had it in for me) and a few other silly accidents..all at a veryyoung age..
I was crossing a road on a green light. The road I was on had NO visibility up and down the cross streets, tall buildings on every corner. As I entered the intersection I realised there was a pickup truck BARRELING down the road doing about 60mph running the red. He was about six feet away when I saw him. There was literally NO time to change course or brake. Luckily I accepted death - and did nothing - the driver hit the brakes and swerved hard right, carving around where I was. missing me by three feet. People said that I'd have been killed on my motorcycle, knocked down a hill off a bike at 60mph. Sure. But even in a car, being T-boned at that speed would still be fatal.
i was 6, i was at sea and i was diving and i didn't know where i was what was up and what was down and i got real scared and quiet
i was 10 or 11, cant remember, but i was at disney world at a water park, and the weather started to get really bad, as i was just getting into this pool. The pool it self would make waves, like recreating a wave that the ocean would make. Well as i was getting in there, it started to rain, and i wasnt a good swimmer in the first place, so as i was trying to get out, i felt myself drowning, so i yelled for help and someone came out and saved me.
I had Hystisitosis-X as a young child... or at least that is what it was called back then. Don't know what they are calling it now. I can only explain it as a mixture of cancer and infection. It was quite serious, and spent over a year in the hospital. It attacked my skull, and my upper and lower back. I was paralyzed during and after this due to complications from a lower vertebra collapsing against my spinal cord. I have a nifty scar that runs the width of my skull from the doctor's scraping it to determine what was happening to me... lol. Am totally fine now... just a few scars to show for it.
So you were on your bike Man when this happened? Shit-I know I would of freaked and hit the back break too fast and went into a fish tail. You should be a pilot Man-They have to have that no blink type of brass balls thing. You Rock. Glad you made it!
well, death and I watched a movie last night, ended up cuddling... I felt pretty close to him then. yeah, I know, that was lame
jeeez, that sounds pretty fucking scary. Spine stuff kindof freaks me out - so many things can go permanently wrong with spines and spinal cords
Wow--I spent three weeks in a hospital and thought that was long. A year? That had to be very hard and also you must have been in a lot of pain. Did you find that afterwards you were more Psychic? Your fevers must of been like over the top too. Peace
I was riding in the back of a pick-up truck that was moving at approx. 55-65mph(according to the cops, but I think it was faster). We had all eaten 5 xanax bars, including the driver. While we were travelling at 55-65mph we flew off the road and ran head-on into a steel pole that stopped the truck on impact. I was in the bed of the truck, mind you, with no restraints. My head hit and shattered the rear window on the cab of the truck. I was so fuckied up from the xanax that I didn't care to much about the giant gash in my head and concussion. I was in the bed of the pick-up and could have flown out onto the pavement. The truck was considered totalled on the spot and my other friend who was riding in the passnger seat got a big gash around his kidney area because the door and the whole passenger side of the truck, which is the side of the bed I was sitting on, was almost completely ripped off. We were all lucky to be alive and learned our lesson about driving under the influence of xanax.
I was only 2. That was part of the problem, because I didn't have the words to tell the doctors what was wrong. My Mom says that I just kept telling them that I had a "tummy ache". The police actually got involved at one point, because I had all these bruises, and the doctor's thought my parent's were beating me as the doctor's couldn't find what was wrong with me. Eventually they figured it out, and started treatment. It was very painful for my parents though, and was the straw that broke the marriage's back... lol. I don't really remember much about it... blocked it out, i guess. I remember getting pulled around in a wagon, but didn't realize that I had been paralyzed until my mom mentioned it when I was around 10. haha. I have a huge lingering fear of needles... Dad says it sometimes took 4 nursed to hold me still while the doctor took my blood. I don't know if I am more psychic. I do get feelings about things, people, situations. When I was younger I didn't always follow my feelings, and usually regretted it. I have always followed them since I was 16... serious car accident involving the car I had been riding in.. bad feelings made me get out of the car. Everyone gets feelings about stuff though, right?
That was not lame. that was all i was reading this thread for. but anyways, onc3 when i was a young lad, I was outside barefoot and it started storming very suddenly. I had to run to my neighbors garage and when i did, the lightning struck like 4 feet behind me. i vaguely remember this, but nothing happened to me.
