    ......to a winter wedding?

I've never been to a winter wedding and I'm clueless on what is "appropriate" to wear (this is my sister-in-law and my husband is in the wedding so I don't want to go the "I don't care what people think route").
I was thinking about a long skirt and Birks? Are Birks appropriate? I don't know...

Hey I wore mine to my SIL's wedding and I was actually in the wedding party. LOL I wore the required dress because I was the Matron of honor but she couldn't convince me to wear pantyhose or high heels. Are you insane? I didn't even wear that stuff my own wedding, I don't know what made her believe I would do it for hers. :p So the bridesmaids had to settle for long dresses because I was wearing my Birks. LOL

Don't you think that's a bit selfish? I mean, it was HER wedding.

Yes it was her wedding but she wanted me to be in it. I told her many times that I didn't want to be in it because I don't feel right wearing certain things, for instance I got the high heels and tried walking around in them for 2 weeks but keep stumbling and the way I walked I looked like a dude impersonating a women. So she and I came to a compromise. As for the pantyhose no one wanted to wear them. It was a summer wedding in Southern California... can you say scorching? The day of her wedding it was 93 degrees. :)

there are certainly other low heeled shoes you can get as well...but you know i am having my wedding next week, it's a very casual wedding on the beach and i am wearing a pair of birk knock offs that are a shiny turqoiuse color! lol i have seen those in gold too. it's a compromise thought.

well, when i went to a winter wedding, i wore a long sleeved green crushed velvet dress with black tights, and a matching crush velvet green choker, with a big tacky silver heart hanging from it. I also sported black velvet lace-up witch boots, and a big black velvet bow in my hair to compliment my mushroom cut. I was also 9 years old and the year was 1993 and i also looked like a complete ass.

I hate winter weddings. Who would ever want their wedding in the winter? Agh! Too cold...too much snow. Give me a cool spring day in a forest, next to a beach with daisies everywhere. Good luck, i would never know what the hell to wear to a winter wedding. Yeesh!

So, this is the dress I decided on. I just received it from the seller (I got it on ebay) and it is beautiful. I've got a long sweater to wear over it, but the wedding is in Portland, OR, so it won't be freezing. :)

    I love this dress!!!
