SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO SOoooooo much. i recycle everything, i buy water from a place that distills it and fills up your container, glass in my case because glass doesnt recycle good. i also try to bring my own container of water wherever i go and not use plastic or styrofroam cups. so i reduce waste by doing that, consuming less, composting what i can with food scraps in my backyard. i grow my own vegetables. i am a vegetarian, the meat industrys actually very bad for the environment. i mow the lawn with a old school mower that doesnt use gas, and mow all my neighbors lawns as well. i support organic farmers and organic products that were grown safely in consideration for generations to come and my health. i eat wild food which didnt require burning oil to get to my house and is actually very healthy. i ride my bike when i can to get to places which is good excercise too. when i do have to drive i buy gas from citgo which get oil from venezuela, not saudi arabia. i dont buy newspapers every day, i get my news on the internet. i plant trees that i found in my backyard everywhere. just be aware of all you do and youll see how much more you really can do. i could probably think of more but im headed off to sleep, much love to you all.
Join Rock the Earth There is a lot you can do is an individual, but the single greatest thing you can do is to support professional environmentalists working for non-profit organizations. The work they do makes a tremendous difference. Rock the Earth is a fabulous choice
disagree, though thats a great thing. single greatest thing you can do is become nevironmental in your living, its the collective whole thats doing the real fucking up of the viro, not a couple of greedy assholes. notice everyone has their own car now a days, EVERYONE has their own vehicle, the city of los angeles has 3 times more cars than people, that creates SOO much pollution and such a sense of seperateness and nooo community at all. though the elite group of greedy fucks certainly have their part in a lot of it, and were the ones who created the collective whole in the first place and so many uneco-friendly ways of life. which could arguably be the beginning of what some might say are the bigger problems, destruction of rainforests etc etc. think, if people sustained themselves in communities WHICH IS SO POSSIBLE, and depended more on themselves and had eco friendly homes that didnt cost a jillion bucks and resources to maintain, we wouldnt NEED more money or more shit, and people wouldnt be out scrambling to destroy rain forests illegally to make a quick buck. i could go onnn and on and i think your a great guy dhs, i really do, but i disagree with you so much ya damn meat eatin hippie
these are all very good points and sound decisions to help the cause. However, such choices doesn't prevent the next set of big box stores going in down the street in an old growth forest or destroying wilderness to find the next natural gas deposit. Having scientific and environmental law experts take on the government and big business does. That is why in addition to the things you have suggested, it is extremely important to support non-profit environmental advocacy groups who have the expertise and resources to prevent such things from happening.
lol i go onto this thread looking for advice on how to help the environment and i end up reading a whole argument on it. well, thanx stranger for those cool ideas im gonna try to use them.
