My body has been acting so weird lately, but the pregnancy test came up negative. (I've posted this in the health forum as well) Okay, so these past two weeks...here's what I've noticed about myself My fingers and toes swell up and go back down to normal 2-3 times a day. (yeah, odd huh?) Between the hours of 6:00 pm and 11:00 pm I get sick to my stomache....but only once have I thrown up. I'm much more emotionally ..um..out there..than normal. (well, that's what I like to call it.) My emotions are just much stronger....and I've cried more than I think I ever have.. lol ...it's not just crying either..it's bounciness and happiness, etc. Every emotion has just..upped a few notches. I have the urge to pee much more often. More times than not, I get the strong urge to pee as if I have drank over 42 oz of water...and I pee such a small amount it's almost as if my bladder is on a strike. (haha) Now..here's what's detering me from the thought I might be pregnant: I did start my period (on Monday)... much lighter than normal, no cramps, and only lasted 48 hours. I spotted, however, a little here and there for 24 hours after. My periods are usually 4-5 days long and twice as heavy as this period was. AND the final thing that's REALLY got me going: I took a pregnancy test last night... I couldn't quite pee for FIVE seconds as it states...but that shouldn't matter.... because it read negative. Now...question is....if I'm not pregnant..then what on friggin' EARTH is wrong with my body?! ARGH!!
Well, the pee thing, to me, sounds like a classic bladder infection. They have OTC pills for that and cranberry juice is also a known helper. How old are you?
Okay, the feminine body, I've found, is a very delicate creation in some ways. What stresses or life changes have been made lately? Diet changes? medications? Also, in regards to pregnancy tests, I had to wait over a week after my period was due to start before the test would register positive. Apparently, I didn't have enough pregnancy hormone until then. So you might want to wait a few days and then retest. Also, the hormonal thing, the swelling, all of that could be due to a thyroid problem. I'd say, see your doctor. Where in Missouri are you? I lived in Missouri for most of my life (until May) and I know that in my area, thyroid problems were very common. Definitely see a doctor and maybe have some blood tests done.
I've known some women who never tested positive on a pregnancy test. I would wait and bit and then see a doc. It's not that unusual to not show positive and to still have periods. Kathi
