I would say either 1965-1970 or 1970-1975, I'm thinking about it.

I would have to pick 1970-1975, this is when Rock reached it's climactic peak towards the mid-70's. Dark Side of The Moon is an example.

1980-1985 had a lot of great pop songs. In my opinion, one of the best pop songs of all time is "Gloria" (1982) by Laura Brannigan. Also "Take On Me" (1985) by Aha is very great.

60-65 is my fave. You have The Beatles, early Stones, and some of the best pop music you'll ever be able to tolerate.

yeah me too, although for me personally I'd extend Soulrebels 11 years to maybe the last 15 or so years. Ironic really as 1970-1975 is one of my least favourite period of music, as I hate the rock dinosaur and excess thing that pretty much peaked over that period then thankfully fucked off when punk arrived

yeah yeah, all the way back to 1990, maybe back to 1985, when music "rebirthed" with the emergence of bands like Jesus & The Mary Chain and all those other ones... you won't find more complex and beautiful music in any different time period, let alone such a wide wide variety of great music.

haha, i feel the same way about '70 to '75 :p

*Adopts his best Tommy Vance impersonation* MONSTERS OF ROCKKK!! hehehe its pretty embarrassing really.
Yeah right on JMChain, My Bloody Valentine, Spacemen 3, that mid to late eighties period was awesome and look where it led to in the 90's, and look how many bands around today are still trying taking their cues off em, BRMC anyone

65-70... mainly just cause that is the time frame of (i think) dylan's best work, or at least my favourite. plus i dig the whole san-fran-psych-blues vibe kinda thing that was goin on... yeah

"Gloria" and "Take On Me" are pop classics of the New Wave era.

I have to go with '65-'70 if I'm gonna choose...that's one of the greatest periods for music...but there's so much great music before that and still being made all the time...
