What's the dumbest thing you regularly spend money on?

We all have at least one thing that's pretty stupid to lay down our hard-earned cash for, and yet we do it. Soooo...what's yours? :bigear:
I'll start. Cigarettes aside, I am a magazine addict.:book2: But at least I can feel a little bit better about it, b/c after I read them, I cut stuff out to decoupage, and then I either donate them to art classes for collages, or I recycle them. So, not as wasteful as it could be, but still pretty dumb to spend so much money on.

 

Pornography. It is so stupid really, since I can get free pornography on the internet.

 

Fast food.

 

Yeah, that is pretty stupid too.
Better get slow food, it lasts longer.

 

romance novels. they're like valium.

 

You know, I really can't think of anything that I spend money on regularly that I would consider dumb. I'm a tight-wad, just like my father. However I'd rather be a tight-wad than be in debt up to my eyeballs like my mother, who spends money like it's going out of style. For the record, they're divorced.

 

Candles.

I might as well just burn my money and cut out the middle man.

 

I used to be in debt up to my eyeballs, but then I woke up about 5 years ago, and corrected the situation. Now I am only in debt up to my other balls.

 

Other than ciggs?

Nothing really... fancy food I guess.

 

food and drugs is the only thing i spend MY money on. I consider them both dumb things to spend cash on. Drugs will catch up on me, and i have food in my house.

 

cigs and beer ofcourse, but those aside

when i eat out i eat the expensive stuff. Ill go to the sports bar when i can only afford mcdonalds. then i have no more money.

 

I used to spend a lot of money on ciggerettes and achohol, rediculous. I buy neither now Go me!

I'm a sucker for nostalgic stuff, like old books, videos, gadgets. After I accumulate too much of it, I sell it off to someone else.

i don't "regularaly" "spend money" on anything. dumb or otherwise.

i do however eat, probably too much and too often. i would probably spend a lot of time riding arround on buses and trains, and going for walks from places i wish it was easier where i live to get to on them, or without cars or them.

one of the reasons i don't have a car is because everyone i've ever had belonged in that catigory. i.e. a pain in the ass with four wheels on the bottem.

it is/was nice to be able to sit and point the thing where you wanted it to go and tell it with your feet how fast or slow to get there. for as long as it is/was possible to do so without it demanding an inordinate amount of further attention.

the kinds of magazenes i enjoy i do not consider a waste of anything, analog sf, asamov's, f&sf, , model railroader, mother earth news, that sort of thing, architecture, graphus, and so on, though i don't and haven't bought any all that often or lately. i did finally subscribe to analog, and in the past i've had subs to model railroader.

leggo blox and second hand science fiction paperbacks where my most frequent nonessential purchaises the last time i was 'gainfully' (i.e. monetarily) employed.

train stuff, computer stuff, hardware store bits and pieces are what i prefer to spend every greatest percentage of every penny that passes through my hands that i can on.

again non-stupid, because, like bus and train rides, creating and exploring are what gratify, and all these things, the only kinds of things i LIKE to spend anything on, are ways of doing that. even the kinds of grocery shopping i like to do is covered by that at least a little.

anything i have to, or end up getting coerced into, spending on ANYTHING ELSE, makes me feel like: "DAM, THAT WAS STUPID", and think about all of the more gratifying things i could have and would rather have spent it on instead.
