Id have to go with "Aumgn" by Can of there 1971 release Tago Mago. Its a dark extremely experimental and very radical peice of music. Its quite insane and very strange.

    Karlheinz Stockhausen- Kontakt.
Some might argue if it is even music at all.

yea that kind of pisses me off that certain people wont consider certain peices music becase it lacks a verse/chorus type of structure. i wish more people were able to digest more challenging approaches to music. some people dont even give it a chance if it doesnt appeal to them right away.

deerhoof i found a little weird. thats all i can think of at the top of my head.
I have a couple of friends who are really into just making noise on stage, im not reallly into it myself but i can still appreciate it for the way it defies structure and breaks out of the norm.
all music is noise so who defines what noise sounds good or not? music is a cultural, historical phenomenon, and those who play 'noise' remind us of that.

rat guiser, by biosphere i think, also microtunneling almost certainly by them, a day in the life of a micro-organism by the prime time sublime orchestra (i don't too much care for that one, but it IS "different"), photon clarinet (played on a circuit bent speak and spell if i recall correctly, i forget who the musician is was on that one). i also have a piece that was made by using the output of non-invasive position detection sensors as inputs to a midi controler, oh, and they were detecting the positions of gerbils in mazes at the time.

then there's some down shifted into the human audio range of certain deep space telemetry data, picked up by various space probes and other tecnologies which actually sound pretty cool and trippy.

i think these are among the most unusual collections of sounds i've found musicly interesting that i've stumbled upon and collected free samples of.

and of course there's always john cage's infamous classic. x.however many minuets of silence. i think it's 3 something. i don't have a recording of that. but sometimes i wish it were possible to somehow play silence loud enough to drown out some of the sounds i do sometimes hear. some of the more mundane ones that DO get airplay for example.

there's also a sample from sound dogs called rapp yoddle! yah it's as funny as it sound, even if it doesn't really have words like is what rapp is.

hope i didn't kill this thread. sure didn't mean to. i would like to see more of what others consider odd.

there's a guy called mikail grahm who produces a couple of hours on kvmr every tuesday where he sometimes (often) plays what he considers to be pretty strainge. he's also got a website: http://www.theotherside.biz/ which is also what he calls his radio show: 'the other side'.

    =^^=

idk if this is the type of music your looking for, but a lot of stuff by crystal castels. airwars, dolls, magic spells, vidkids, especially XXZXCZX me. most of it just sounds like... sounds put together at high speeds, especially that last one.

    damn...I've heard a lot of weird sh!t..
well, team doyobi are weirdos, I have autechre's gantz graf on vinyl, that's pretty odd.

but it would have to be hearing Anthony Braxton's orchestra 20 member ensemble at a composer's symposium at UNM. that stuff was utterly utter, str8 out the loony bin bizzaro.

I've seen and heard a lot of very odd music over the years. The most extreme may have been The Haters in Paris in 1995 - consisting entirely of two guys taking twenty minutes to slowly destroy a microphone with an anglegrinder.
For music played on actual instruments, it's hard to beat "Torture Garden" by Naked City.

I've also played in a lot of strange bands, but that's another story

    Gangpol und Mit. Juicy Panic.

Taigaga Bouncing by Les Robots Musique

    La dCsalpe by Yvan&Lendl

As for non-electronic stuff I'd have to say the Danielson Family. It took me a while to get used to their weird song structures, but then I fell in love with them.
