growing out their hair?? it looks quite odd to see all these long locks and dreads flopping outside of the football helmets..... this denver/pitt game has two quarterbacks who look like transients with their unshaven beards and long hair.....
Even though I am on the outskirts of Philly, I'm still rooting for the Steelers. Plus, I haven't shaved since late Oct '05 and don't plan on it. My shit is woofin
Hey, I think guys with hair are hot, I mean, my hubby's a hairy, unshaved man and I'd be totally upset if he took it all off! I guess maybe we're just not used to seeing these football players with all that hair hanging out. I don't know. I am just sooo excited that the Steelers are going to the Super Bowl! Yeah baby yeah! *does her happy dance*
I always remembered football players with short hair...... even in high school and college, the athletes always were clean cut, and the outcasts were the ones with long hair and stubble...... I guess its one of those stereotypes..... I dont ever remember football players having hair hangin out of their helmets so far that you cant even read the names on their backs........ as of these recent years, more people are doing that........ even in baseball, no one had really long scraggly hair like johnny damon had..... then more people started doin it.....
I agree. I can never really remember seeing football players with long hair and unshaven until more recently.
Id be afriad if someone would pull on my hair....... it gets awful rough out there on the field....... and I dont think there is any kind of penalty for pulling someones hair....... you cant grab anyone at the face mask, but you can pull someone by their hair....
Troy Polomalu is a bad man. ....and when asked about the hair covering his name on the back of his jersey he replied, "My hair is my name" I think thats cool as shit go steelers
there actually have been talks recently among nfl officials that they may institute a rule agains having long hair. their claim is for safety reasons
it's superstition, they don't want to change anything if they are winning, so that includes not shaving/cutting hair, or in some extremes, washing clothes... It was pretty common in hockey back in the day...
baseball is like that too. they would go to extremes to keep streaks alive...... not changing socks, underwear........ not shaving, and even (if you seen the film bull durham) not having sex......
Yeah I heard about this as well. I don't understand why though as I have never seen or heard of a hair-related injury happening.
Now I don't think they should go and do something like that. I mean, I understand in a way how they would feel it may pose as a safety risk (I guess?) but couldn't they just pull it back and tuck it under their helmet if safety were an issue?
