i usually meditate around the middle of the day, but I used to like to do it at night before sleep. anyone have a specific time you like to do it?
when i practised vipassana i used to sit in the early morning when it was still quiet and in the late evening just before bed now every moment is a meditation - so its a constant.
I meditate when it's needed. Like when I'm anxious or feeling uneasy. When I meditate for the heck of it..I usually do it in the evening.
Early morning (If I can get up) so as to open myself to a new day and keep bhakti alive To keep the love for God in everything that I do, and this is most definitley enhanced by early morning yoga. And also at night, generally around 10-3am, beginning sometime between those hours and lasting as long as it lasts. The night time meditation I use for prayer, but I always begin with self reflection, to take a deep look at myself and ask myself "Who was triumphant today in the daily struggle? Ego or Soul?" And this way I can sit and evaluate all of my actions and find if I perform more selfish actions or devoted actions throughout a single waking period. After this self reflection, I get in tune with my soul and place thought's on God and begin my climb toward the Light. Also, it is proper to meditate in the same spot everyday, I mean we can meditate anywhere but it is very well to keep a spot that the energy surrounding you while you meditate remains in the same area, helping you when you go to step outside of your ego every morning/evening. Just some advice that I've found helps tremendously to calm the mind and open the heart and soul
3am? Man, that'd be hard for me. I can't meditate in the morning (too tired :&) and I can't focus at all when I'm tired. I meditate usually in the afternoon around 12-1 and in the evening around 8-9.
Oh not everyday Dream, only sometimes, like once or twice a week am I meditating that late at night. And the morning? Even more rare for a lazy bum like myself
