Hey all, Can anyone identify where in Europe this is? Country or city is fine. It's doing my head in.... Thanks in advance! toon
Well It was actually in 1410 and is one of the most famous Astronomical Clock in the World. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prague_Astronomical_Clock
I love the way the crowd claps every hour when it goes off....I'm sure the clock really appreciates the gesture!
Yeah. But for me as a person who lives in Prague.. I on the other hand dislike the crowds of tourists standing there 30 minutes before the the clock show begins. So and so, tourists make our Prague prosper.
wow i've never seen an astronomical clock before! but i can't imagine standing around watching it and clapping everything it goes off...its supposed to do that like clockwork, being a clock and all but i could see myself watching it for a little while and quietly admiring it but the crowds would annoy me haha
Yeah, it's a huge tourist attraction, but I understand it. When I was a kid I also loved watching it, cause every hour the apostles start to move around and it's so magical. But also when I was a kid, there weren't as many tourists as last few years.
Been there, done that... Don't forget to have a BIG COLD, STRONG One Euro BEER while you're there... :cheers2: My pix of the clock are here: http://www.hiptravelguides.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&id=460&site=6
those are cool. as I see, the main thing people think of when you ask about the Czech rep. is the beer.
Actually music seemed to be everywhere in Prague. It's really an arts center. It's not the capital of Bohemia for nothing!
definetely a place I want to check out soon but recently I don't have have much time for travelling but in spring I'll have a lot of question on prague
