Hey there... After convincing my parents to let me grow a couple little plants... I'm wondering a few of the basics of course..

I've got a grow light from way back, but I'm not sure of the wattage... It says 40W on it, so I'd guess 40 watts... Enough power for say 2-3 at the most maybe 4 plants... What kind of wattage am I looking at? And how much will a light cost me? I've looked online, but I can't find anything for small, personal use.. Just these hardcore grow-ops of 20-30+ plants.....

Can anyone give me any tips? Also, what is a good - easy strand to grow indoors?

Temperature that they need to sit at? I've heard soil with peat moss is the way to go, but I've read other things on miracle grow... and other things so I'm sort of confused, especially since I've never grown anything! Not even a fucking tomato, bean, beat...NOTHING! :p

Also, I'm not sure of where to put them... My basement is large, dark, and typically is around 60 degrees Farenheit and probably around 40-50% humidity. My attic space is smaller, gets real hot in the summer, but pretty cold in the winter.

Thanks a lot for the help. I appreciate it.

wow...40w will get you nothing except dead plants. If it were me, I'd look at building something like one of the stealth grow cabs.

before anyone else does it and really blasts you out of the water...read a grow guide. There's several decent ones available online, and since you said your parents are letting you, if I were you I'd get the mel rosenthal 'Marijuana bible' and Jorge cervantez's growbook. Between those two, you'll have enough info to grow and do it 'right'.

If you want to pm me, I'll talk with you a bit about a specialized system for your size grow.

Seriously, if you've never grown before, it's going to be a lot harder than if you've done some gardening (of any sort) before, but if you're willing to listen and learn, we'll get you going.

there's a lot of growguides both here and there, and these two threads should show you some ideas. If you want weed, you're not going to get it off a 40w growlight and no idea what you're doing.

oh, and for the plant that grows 'most' like pot....Tomatoes. 70-80F, 55-60% humidity, lots and LOTS of light, and very thirsty. light, soft soil, if you go that route, careful with the nutrients. Good luck.

    Read, brother, read.
