My desktop has finally stopped working . I'm looking for a place to get it fixed: it freezes up after performing half a dozen tasks or so. Time for the repairman- anyone know a good place to go? any ideas on cost [more or less]. I'd like to thank you in advance for any responses. Muchly appreciated. PAX
Possible best buy, circut city. Best bet Call the Geek squad at best buy, they are supposdly the lords of computers. And i beleive they will even drive up to your house.
if you have local computer shops, theyre probably the cheaper way to go. the geek squad is pricey but good
Yeah man, I'd post an add on craigslist or something looking for a low cost repairman. I used to fix my friends' machines for pot, so there's always a way where there is a will.
Though really, half the time if you can get it to boot into safe mode and install ad aware and some registry cleaners, most of the time a slow desktop is indicative of spyware / malware. just a thought
NEVER use Best buy or some other chain store. EVER. Look in the yellow pages for local repairs places and ask around locally.
Our local university has a computer science dept. We found a fourth year student [who just happens to live in our little town]. He was going to fix our computer for free but we forced him to take forty bucks [pot money]. He got the computer fixed and it is amazing not to have to wait half a day for something to happen: and now it happens like it should. And to think- we could have gone to Best Buy and spent the big bucks. PAX
LOL nice job. Iam happy that worked out. Did he say the problem with the computer? Because my parents just bought this new HP desktop computer at christmas and its been slowing up. Well not really but you know. If its just a small bullshit problem that ill be able to figure out then no problem it wouldnt bother me, if its some other kind inner hardware thing then ill call the company. I thinking its just a minor bullshit problem that ill be able to figure out. Computers are out of this world. lol
Unfortuneatly our problem was on the major side. But here are a few maintenance tips that he gave me. You should defrag your computer at least once a week. You should delete all spyware as often as possible. He deletes his at day's end. Too bad I can't be of more help. PAX
Dang, I was about to suggest that if "Zion" happened to be near Tecopa you could bring it here for a similar arrangement to the one that Changing tide had mentioned.
