Girl, I get champs so bad sometimes that I have tears in my eyes and I can't lay still. I feels like my female organs are going to explode! Lol! When they get that bad, I have to take two advil and a asprin and put a heating pad on my stomach. Then just ride out the pain but its hard when I can't even lay still. After a while your thinking is this cramps or is this labor pain lol! Jking but cramps get bad for some people in their early and mid twenties. Men just have no idea!

I've been through hell and back with my periods. I'm unusual though and have weird allergies that make things a lot worse for me. Besides amaaazing tablets that I have finally been prescribed, lots of little things can help. A little pure dark chocolate is good for you around the time of your period. It's also wise to eat properly and avoid caffeine and alcohol. A hot water bottle helps as does a warm bath. We often feel warm when we have our periods and it's true that the body heats up. If you get too hot, you'll want to cool down. It's fine to take your layers off, lie outside of the blanket and put a fan on your face. But don't ever lie in cold water, go outside into the cold without wrapping up or place a cool pack on your tummy. Cramps are contractions of the uterus and your tummy needs to be kept warm to ease the cramps, having a cold uterus and body will only make the cramps worse. The pill also usually helps ease a lot of discomfort. Hope you feel better soon x

I have always had brutal periods...I was on the pill for the last 8 years but ended up having to take myself off it due to loss of insurance. I love not being on the pill now but the periods are bad...I get awful cramps and the PMDD that I was diagnosed with before i started the pill is brutal...

But, I gotta say, the pain of my period is cake compared to the pain of the ulcers I get regularly!

I have a good tolerance for pain, so I can't empathize with women who "suffer" from menstrual cramps. I cope with them by going for walks and standing up straight as often as I can. If I try to lessen the pain by curling up into a ball like some girls do, I just end up convincing myself that it's really THAT bad, then I eventually pussy out and take Aleve. And I hate taking pain-killers.

I decided to try Midol last month, just to see what the big fuss was. The three ingredients were suppose to kill the pain, make me pee more, and keep me awake. I ended up tired as fuck, the pain lasted longer than it normally does, and I DID NOT pee more. Fuck Midol.

It that case your periods aren't as bad as others'. Nice speech marks around "suffer" by the way. Periods are different for everybody.

Why would you want to pee more because you have your period? Personally the bloating makes me pee more and that's a shitty side effect. There's a stimulant in there but the drug can make you tired. And the pain lasting longer was probably coincidence.

I get mad when people cry over broken limbs. Quite frankly, I don't give a damn how much it hurts. Man up.

And ask the people who make that shit.

Exactly. It's crazy, my guy friends act like I'm being a drama queen or something. "It's not a joke!!" I yell at them. Then I stomp on their feet really hard with my combat boots or platform boots and they will get a taste of PAIN. ArrGGHAahg1gh!!!!!!

periods do hurt. the kick to the nuts is the worst - but sometimes they aren't as bad, and instead it's just the odd nipple twist.

Diuretics (chemicals which make you pee) are common in Midol because water retention (bloating) is a frequent occurrence during PMS.

Beer is a more effective diuretic.

Alcohol is in general a more effective analgesic (pain killer) than ACAP (Tylenol) Aspirin, or the other NSAID's.

Alcohol, despite being a CNS depressant, releases (prevents the reupake of) large amount of dopamine, which is the neurological basis for stimulants. Hence the reason aggression and alcohol often go hand in hand.

The interesting thing about this is PMS is noticed with a remarkable decrease in dopamine, which is also noticed in people with schizophrenia. Keep in mind I'm not saying that women suffering from depression or other mental disorders are schizophrenic, it's just a way to understand the mood disturbances.

So the intake of moderate amounts of alcohol during PMS really could be very beneficial.

I'm thinking about writing a paper on the subject.

Anyway, my advice to women with bad PMS... drink beer.
