I'm naturally auburn haired, but I've recently started dying it to make it more red. I love the color, but I'm hating the maintenance. It fades out way too quickly for my liking. As much as I love the red, after 3 months of it, and the work to keep it looking that color, I'm considering just going back to my natural auburn color. I just don't like spending the jack for upkeep and I worry about damaging my hair. So we shall see...
But that's why I started dying it! I was going gray at the temples! I'm just considering dying it my natural hair color. That should be easy upkeep, and all I'd have to worry about was covering the little bit of gray that seems to have taken over.
Well yeah if you dye it the same colour, then it should be easier, as i said nothing wrong with Auburn. By the way i am ash blonde, basically means i was blond and went grey when i was in high school (and being a man i dont care if i am completely grey, God just dont let me go bold, another reason to be happy HCM)!
You should use some of those shampoos and conditioner to maintain red color. I dont know, it might help.
I had actually been looking at some at the store yesterday, just had no idea of which one is the best for my hair! I want to make sure it maintains the color, yet will add volume. The volumizing shampoo I currently use claims it's color safe, but I swear it's stripping away the color at lightening speed! I guess I should just pick one. I won't know unless I try!
I had a friend that used the John Frieda Radiant Red, her hair always look all shiny and pretty. You could use something to enhance the color and then get something else for volume? I dont really know much about hair things, I just wash my hair and cut it from time to time, but I guess that's what I would do.
I am a red head too. I have a lot of blond highlites as well. I think it is also interesting that red headed people are the true minority of the world and are considered to be dying off.
that is true! lots of red heads do not keep their red either. my moms side were red headed until they turned brown or blonde. Im the only one in the family that kept the red hair.
Up intill I was two (or so) I had long extreemly curly bright red hair. Eventually turned brown, but now I have a mix of brown, red, and grey....like the other guy
